Im not looking for attention, I don't want symphathy, or to be talked out of it, or silly answers like "go to Iraq with an American flag". I'm hoping someone would be "Dr.Cavorkian" enough to give me a real answer. I've tried everyplace else, now I'm trying here. If people can be sympathetic enough to put animals to sleep, if they are in immense pain, why not a human. Some problems just cant be fixed.

It's already been mentioned here, but the absolute best advice is to wait just one more day! The beauty of suicide is that you can do it any time, so you don't gain anything by doing it today. No matter how bad your life is now, just hang on one more day and see what happens. After all, you can always do it tomorrow, right? Carry this philosophy through and who knows, your life may change such that you change your mind about wanting to end it.

From a purely biological stand point:
I used to think that a guillotine would be the best because your head comes right off. Later, in life though, it occurred to me how all the nerves from your neck would be severed and still sending signals to your brain for at least a few minutes until enough blood drains out to kill your brain. That sounds painful to me, so that's out. I think you would want to physically destroy your brain as quickly as possible to avoid any pain, fear, and unpleasantness (except for eternity in hell), therefore, pills are no good because they'll most likely cause stomach pain and besides you'll probably get "saved" before you die anyway. Handguns require a good aim to do it right (just pointing it at your temple is no guarantee) and even still the bullet can glance off bone and leave you a vegetable for the rest of your life. So, if I were to do it, I would use a shotgun in the mouth, tilted so that it will go out the back of my head. This would, I think, completely disintegrate my brain and therefore, I wouldn't feel anything and it would be over the micro-second that the gun goes off.
Still though, it's definitely better, once you have really decided to do it, to just wait one more day and see what tomorrow brings.

There are none! All methods cause pain and all methods involve inflicting pain, especially to those who really do care about you - regardless what you think. There are different types of pain: emotional, physical, spiritual, mental and external. If you feel that you *need* to end your life because your pain is too great to bear, I can't stop you. But with every negative there IS a positive, and sometimes it's so damn hard to find the positives. I know. I've been there too. As a Mentor/Spiritual Advisor it's my professional job to listen, though not necessarily advise you against a choice or action; it's not my place to judge you either way. Because we all make mistakes, we're all overwhelmed by Life and Love, and we all get caught up in problems to which we cannot seem to find the answers. It doesn't matter if he/she left you, or family is abusive, or this and that....It's all the same. And just like you've made a conscious effort to end your life, it will take a conscious effort for YOU to decide to live it how YOU would like. I sincerely hope you find your peace of mind...I'm not offering my sympathies, but I am empathizing with your situation, since I've been there. And I'll tell you the same thing that my best friend told me: "Who the hell are you to decide whether you live or die? Only God can decide that because God is master over life and death. Are you going to leave a gaping wound in me too when you kill yourself? Who are you really thinking about? The answer is Yourself! If you can't figure out your own problems, then I believe in the next life, you'll have to go over it all over again until YOU get it RIGHT!"

Least painful? But you want it to be scary? Hummm, sounds like you just need a good adrenaline rush that can be easily found by riding a roller coaster or some other type of thrill ride.

Typically owners only put their pets to sleep in a humane effort to end their suffering from disease. This is a terrible loss for most people and causes a great deal of pain. There are also times where they euthanize unwanted pets and this is also a tragedy because these were lives that DID NOT want to end. They could have been of great value had someone given them the chance. Why don't you rescue one, maybe you'll rescue yourself also.

As bleak as life seems to be, anything worth dying for is worth fighting for. If you feel your life is so terrible that dying is the ONLY solution you can find, then you need to reevaluate what you are putting so much importance on. Fight for yourself, fight for what you want or need out of life. If life is so terrible because you were rejected by someone? You have dysfunctional home life? Life goes on, another person will come along and more heartaches will come along. Learn from the dysfunction and grow out of it, move beyond it. Pain is a part of life and it's also a part of what makes us alive. Without it we wouldn't understand joy or happiness.

Talk with a counselor or your family doctor. Don't be too ashamed or afraid to do this. Depression is very common and easily treated with a variety of solutions, you just have to want to find one.

If you don't want to find one, then you are incredibly self absorbed and self centered. Stop being that way, it's self destructive and makes for a boring person and life. Get out of that box!!

You'll wake up someday from this self imposed pity party and be a happier person because you survived what you are going through and realize you are a better person for it.

And you're right some problems can't be fixed but this one can.

I totally believe that you are sincere in asking your question and not looking for attention.
But let me tell you this: You need help. 1 1/2 years ago, I attempted suicide. I didn't succeed. But, what happened is I got help.
Honey, whatever your problem is, it can be dealt with. Even if it is too unbearable to talk about. Whatever it is, there are doctors and nurses out there who can help you.
Everyone goes thru trials, but unfortunately, not everyone has the skills to get thru them effectively, and we hang onto our pain, and we don't let it go, something else happens, we hang onto that pain, and more pain and more pain, until we cannot deal with life anymore. You seem like you may be at that point.
You may have been asked this before? How would your loved ones deal with your death? They would blame themselves, and never be able to let go of the fact that you killed yourself.
Like I said, I believe your question is very valid, and sincere, and I don't feel you are seeking attention, but what you do need is medical attention. You need help. I hope you choose to get it.

One little problem with your argument: a human's life has far more worth than an animal's.
And believe me, you're not gonna find the answer you're looking for here. Most of the people here will tell you to:
1) grow up
2) seek professional help
3) go into Iraq with an American flag
4) offer obviously painful and scary ways of committing suicide.

As for me, I'm thinking 1) AND 2).

If you are posting here you can damned well expect to have people tell you to get your head out of your a&s..

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I recently lost a friend after a long battle with cancer and whining self-centered little brats that think suicide is the only way out need to figure out that somethings in life are worth fighting for. My friend fought for each breath to be their for her 7 yr old, and i see pissant's wanting to end it all because of some stupid situation in their narrow little view of existence and I want to beat them bloody so they have something to fight about.

Get this, I've seen and known many people over the last 25 years that have gotten the job down, I've known several people that blew their heads off with shotguns, one used drano and drowned in her own stomach fluids a slow and painfully agonizing death, OD's hangings, you name it I've known people that have done. They all had one thing in common.. A very selfish self-centered view of the world. Get your head out of your butt and go help someone at the homeless shelter. If you have access to a computer your life isn't all bad.

Buck up. Get a job, get out of yourself. YOU ARE NOT THE CENTER OF THE PHUCKING UNIVERSE.. I have no sympathy or empathy for suicidal bozos. Life is good, you need to realize it before you do something REALLLLY PHUCKING stupid and miss it.

Go talk to a counselor and sign a contract.

Jumping off a high building is scary, will get attention and is very final.
Are you sure you want to go through with it. There are strong pain medications available and many professional people would be happy to listen respectfully to your story, and may have other solutions. Why not give that a try.
Best wishes,
Dan.
Meep you rock.

Young lady, my heart and soul goes out to you. For me to tell you I could loose my medical Lic., as I would be contributing to your death.

You fail to say if your problem is mental or physical pain that is chronic and no known cure. Because of what you have written I can only assume that you don't live what I call a quality life.

As to you not wanting to be talked out of it, I don't care because people who are looking to commit suicide are always looking for attention. And they want some one who really cares about them to talk them out of it.

When you take your life it is final. You can not say "I made a mistake and want my life back". Life is over as you know it.

I agree with you about your statement relating to animals being put down when they are in pain with no cure. Animals are not humans. Humans have the ability to talk and relate their pain and suffering to a professional if they so desire.

Don't know if you are religious, but suicide is considered a "mortal sin". You will have to answer to God on the other side and perhaps come back to this earth to learn more knowledge.

I am a clinical psychiatrist and have been a volunteer doctor working in war zones since 1971. I put my life on the line daily for victims of war, the poor, and the rights of women.

If you wish to talk I will do my utmost to help you overcome the emotional trauma.

I believe in the power of pray. Pray can heal everything. All you have to do is have faith and believe that there is a higher source of energy out there then you and me. (Mind over matter).

All I can say is that I really care. So if you wish to contact me:

Before I answer I'd like to give some advice. When you're at your worst and don't think you can go on, just hold on 1 more day. Not 2 or 3...just one. What the hell right? Chances are your next day could, and just might bring some small form of hope or happiness that you weren't expecting. You owe at least that to yourself friend. Just one day.

pain is how you know you are alive. running away from life is not the answer. my cousin killed herself because she was a coward too afraid to face the pain her future might hold. she did it with a gun. are you going to let your father find you with your brains splatter on the bedroom floor, leave your kids without a mother and your family asking the million 'what ifs' that will plague them for the rest of their lives? i live with the 'what ifs' and with the pain but for me there is still hope because i am alive. were there is life there is hope, so baby start hoping and don't let anyone to tell you not to.
