Because, it is with the heart that one believes, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

If you doubt the existence of God, then your first thought is to find some way to make yourself stop doubting?

What you're saying is that, more than anything else, you want to believe in god, even if there isn't one.

You're not interested in the truth, then? You're not confident that you can explore your doubts, and find god in the middle of them?

I would think that if your beliefs were as "true" as you claim them to be, then you would not have to worry about doubt. You could dive into your doubts, study them, find out the true nature of the things that cause you to doubt, and then find the answer that will ultimately prove god's existence to you.

For what it's worth, I went and did this. I went and sought the truth. I sought the truth, in an attempt to prove the atheists wrong. But regardless of what side of the argument I was on... I DID find the truth. And I'm glad for that. I hope maybe you'll be brave enough to do the same.

Take a look at this link. If you see something here that makes you doubt your faith, then I invite you to look into it further. Research it. Prove that the arguments on this page are wrong. But don't prove it to me. Prove it to yourself. I think you'll be rather surprised at what you find, and you'll probably also feel like you just woke up from a bad dream.

There are very good reasons today, to doubt the existence of God, and one of those very good reasons is, that God doesn't exist.

If we assume the universe was created, then it’s reasonable to assume there was a creator. That’s as far as science has progressed today, but just look how far religion has progressed.

Religion states (fact) there was a creator called God, that God still exists, God also created places called Heaven & Hell, God wrote an instruction book called the Bible, God will banish evil people to Hell, God will send good people who follow the Bible to heaven, that people referred to in the Bible (like Jesus) will return to Earth, and a whole raft of other statements of fact. That’s right, religious fact, not assumptions.

Now tell me truthfully, if science doesn’t even know yet whether the universe was created or not, but religious believers state: “not only was the universe created by God, here’s a whole lot more proof and facts to go with it, what do you think?

Either religious believers just have vivid imaginations or suffer from a common mental illness. I think commonsense and logic would suggest that religious believers are mentally handicapped.

A-ha! I love the subject of your question.
After much pondering on the same thing, I came to some conclusions and "what ifs" of my own.

Doubt is a horrifically powerful thing. It is invisible and even when administered in tiny doses, the consequences are lethal. Usually we look for big issues to be the problem instead of something sneaky, like doubt. But what could be a better weapon Satan?

I could argue that Lucifer introduced us to doubt that very day Eve took the fruit. Instead of trusting in God's word, they doubted, listened to another source and turned away. (Hmm, that sounds like WAY too many people I know today).

I'm not one who is big into claiming "the Devil made me do it!" around every corner. He didn't need strong evasive actions to get us to turn away from God, just something that would start a domino effect across future generations.

And even though your question points more toward the entire existence of God, I believe my theory is quite applicable. I'm not introducing it as fact, but more of an argument in support of the want of humans to trust and need God.

Why do you doubt the existence of God he's there with you only if your heart is humble before him. God is in the spirit and searches thru the hearts of those that believe in him with no doubts at all. Let your heart be free and allow him in your heart he is not far he knows everything you say and do and believe me he's there but the decisions is yours to make, either Him or your doubts. May God help you!!!!!!

***How to have faith in God when the mind is always doubting the existence of God? ***

To me something as important as God should come with unassailable proof. Faith is such a
nebulous fellow that he appears to diminish with time and knowledge.

It is in the hearts and minds of people to do wrong! The heart more often than not is a liar! You simply can not trust your heart! It will lead you astray. as back in the time of Christ it is today! Bad is always presented as wonderful and great! In our society, you get it on TV, movies, advertisement of all types! You are flooded with doing wrong things everyday, 24/7

Call upon the Holy Spirit. Ask the Holy Spirit to enter your heart and fill you with the truth. The Word of the Lord then becomes knowledge and not belief. You will then truly know that the Lord exists and your faith will never falter.

Blind faith is one of the worst things possible when it comes to religion. If you're having doubts, then there is a reason for it. Find out where you stand.

Faith: is the means by which man accepts and receives God's saving grace (Romans 3:21); it is man's response to God in accepting His work of salvation. Thus faith is the channel through which God's grace comes to man. Both God's grace and man's faith are necessary for salvation. "Without faith it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6) "The just shall live by faith" (Romans 1:17).
God gives potential faith to everyone, "God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith" (Romans 12:3), but He leaves it up to each individual whether or not to accept and apply faith to his life.

I believe in love.
Love cannot be tested nor measured with science, but it is easier to believe because everyone longs for it and at some point everyone experiences some form of love.
God is love.
I believe in God.
