First off, please learn to spell. Second, I don't know what level of school you are going to. Grade school rarely experances theft, but middle school, high school, and some colleges sometimes have a high crime rate.

How old are you? What grade are going into?
It is scary going to a new school especially if you are going through a rough neighborhood.

Do you have any friends who might be going to the school? Can your parents take you over to go through the school before it opens?

Your parents can talk with the teachers and the administrators (the Principal, secretary and Asst. Principal). These individuals can give your parents the information they need about safety.

Your parents are right about carrying valuables. Don't carry a lot of money. Maybe enough for the bus and for a phone call- at least until you get to know the area. You may need your cell phone for emergencies. Is there a place you can carry it where it isn't visible? (Don't wear it on your belt, for example).

What are you allowed to keep in your locker? Are you allowed to carry a purse to and from classes? You can keep your phone in your purse along with your wallet. Don't leave a lot of valuables in your locker, either. You wouldn't want all your stuff stolen while you're in class.

If you are still nervous, ask your parents to make an appointment for you with the guidance counselor.

Good luck. Try not to worry. The school may turn out to be fun and you'll meet a lot of new kids.

Do you have anyone that can walk to the bus stop with you, or have someone at least keep an eye on you? And I would be careful about taking anything valuable with you to school. In this day and age you really can't trust people as far as you could throw them. But just don't get too paranoid, everything will be O.K.

You need to learn to spell. You do not need a phone in school.
