most americans admire the british, after all, they began our country!!!! british, scottish, welsh accents etc. of all varieties are quite interesting,as im sure its interesting for y'all to hear our variety of accents-quite a big difference between atlanta and new york, for example.most americans try to get to england @ least once.i've been several times,i have a pen friend in kent,we've been corresponding since we were kids. maybe years ago, there was a stereotype ,but not any more.we dont think u drive bentleys-most of the present generation doesnt know what a bentley is-maybe we think u drive hybrids or mini coopers, not bentleys !!!! we get a lot of ur tv shows and music.im a crazy east enders fan,the world stops when that show comes on...well,hope that helps, and have fun!!!! u'll get lots of female attention due to ur accent,so enjoy ur popularity...dont refer to us all as "yanks",tho'-people from southern states would be offended to be called yankees !!!!!!! dont think all americans are like californians ,tho-not all of them, but a lot of them, strike the rest of us as being rather vain and not all that bright.its a stereotype of course, but lets just say, most of america isnt trying to have surgery to look younger,or things like that.dont be offended if someone asks if u "are stuffed"- it just means,"have u had enough to eat?"except @ football matches,in general, english people seem not to yell enough when theyre angry-my friends sure dont !!!! go ahead and let it out,its good 4 u !!!!!

I leave UK for a three week holiday in USA some time later today. I shall be staying with American friends near Seattle.
In the UK, I live in an area where I have more American neighbours and friends than English.
I went to the USA for the first time early this year and was based in Oaklahoma but visited several surrounding states. I have had American friends for many years and during my visit also fell in love with the country as well as the people.
At my old age, I wish I had gone many years ago.

Most of us love the English accent. Although, as someone from Texas, I think we get the ideal sometimes that ya'll don't think we talk proper English and look down on the way we speak.
Ya'll also have the reputation of being very mannerly and maybe a little more stand-offish.
I can bet with your manners and your accent you should do well in the United States if you don't make us feel inferior because of our speech.

brits are great mates! girls are intrigued by the accent and love to hear a little bit of britain and customs and such. women are generally and genuinely interested in the british, dont overdo it. you should be just fine.
just be careful about how you voice brit concerns about the US too mate. we sometimes are a defensive lot. LOL.
have a grand holiday in calif. you're going to love it.
keep your wallet in your front pocket where you can feel it too!
and BRING ME some crumpets bro, I havent had any for 3 bloody years since i was last in tasmania.
god i wish i could find a true bakery here.

Since our folks were Brits, Scots, and Dutch before we were Americans, our own language is dotted with old world language expressions and we loved the poetry and literature, we were raised on it. I loved the English countryside when visiting there some years ago and found the country folk quite nice and of course very witty. Londoners reminded me of New Yorkers, very busy and off-putting. I don't know if chicks dig the accent, but manners and good taste will get you anywhere. in the world.

To be honest Americans over here in UK as visiting farces, sorry, forces (I'm talking USAF) are more up their own ar5es and standoffish than English people are (wrongly perceived) to be.
Mostly full of attitude with no substance to back it up
Plus the fact that most of them seem to have been waaaaay back in the queue when common sense was being dished out.
