I have been with my wife for 5 years, I am 25 years old.

No one in her family or mine has asked about us having children.

Yes, we are “young” but it’s been 5 years!

We are planning to start trying for our first child in a few months.

I have other friends who have families that asked about them having children all of the time.

We have excellent careers, a stable marriage, no debt and a house that will paid off in a few months.

So its not like we are in a bad situation to have children.

I am started to get paranoid like maybe they don’t want us to have children or they just don’t care.

Is it weird that no one in my family has asked me about starting a family?

NO, its not strange, some families just arent pushy like that. IN fact! some families know that by asking that, it makes people nervous, and makes it harder for the couple to decide on having children. Dont be paranoid, just know that your familie is supporting whatever decision you make!

no your right your young i wouls start to worry or think it is weird at around 32 if they don't ask by then then yeah sort of weird! but i'm 27 currently and i'm living my life up! before i have kids!
but you got to figure into play most people just get out of school around our ages so life is just starting!
but then again it all depends on your family as well! do you have any siblings? were you a h*ll child? did you show your family that you grew up/... if you did then they are just waiting if it's been 5 years why should they ask? your in a stable marriage,,, i think they are just waiting to here it and if they ask you they may feel you guys being pressured about it!
so don't worry!
Good luck and congrates
Mad luv

I've been with my husband for 6 (10 if you count all the years we dated) and we don't have children. People don't ask us because it's really none of their business, and I try not to ask couples because you really just don't, maybe they can't, don't want to, or want to wait until their financially stable.

Do what you and your wife want to do, and stop worrying about what everyone else thinks.

Yeah it kind of sounds weird. My brother got married almost 2 years ago, and every month I ask him any baby news yet? They of course have been trying since they got married.

You're obviously a very responsible couple~ I'm sure your families realize this and know that you will start your family when you're ready.

You should be very happy that you both have family that respects you enough to stay out of your business.

It is weird. Perfect strangers ask me that all the time, so it's odd your family hasn't asked.
