If so, how do you celebrate it?

Yep, because every year it's like a huge family reunion. It's funny, I'm not Christian, my husband is, and our kids chose Catholicism. The rest of our family tree is mostly Catholic, but we have two Atheists and a Buddhist as well. My husband and I have the party each year (over 70 people) and it's become tradition. There are singing of carols by some and drinking of beer by others, sometimes together lol. We all manage to get along, sometimes with the occasional religious/philosophical debate over the holiday itself. No one gets crazy, and everyone has a good time honoring this holiday their own way, whether it is simply for the party or for their religion.

I celebrate it, but not under that name. To me, it is Yule.

Yes, I do put up a Tree and decorate it- I was raised in a christian family, and for me, it is more of something I enjoy- the ornaments are all memories of happy times when I was growing up, 'lights in my life.'

But I also have ritual, when I celebrate the Death of the Oak King by the Holly Kings hand- when the Son Conquors the Father, to become a Father himself.

I am sure many have problems with this ideaology, but for me, it works.

I do gift peole- The winter is a time of community, and a time of darkness and cold, and a gift, to me, is a symbol of light and warmth, that there will always be people who care, and who are willing to at least try to help.

I am a Christian, but I have a friend from Australia who is an atheist. We usually stay away from the subject of religion (so we can maintain our friendship). I asked her once why she celebrated Christmas, since she didn't believe in Christ. She explained that it was a time for her family to show their love for each other through gift exchange and family activities.

We do, basically because we live in a country where Christmas celebrations are the norm and it isn't really that related to religion anymore.

Our family just uses Christmas to celebrate family and friends and happiness.

Christmas is the name xtians gave to this adopted pagan holiday. Read your history. Decorating Trees, giving gifts, Santa, stockings, wreaths and all the other trappings are PAGAN in origin. It is known as Yule. Even the nativity is Pagan. Yet another proof that xtianity is just an ancient pagan religion in disguise. Salvation is not a new concept either.

To answer your question, yes we celebrate the holidays in our agnostic home.

I'm Muslim, but i certainly love Christmas. It's a very warm celebration and gathers all people together. I love the great feelings shared among people, and many Muslims share such lovely moments with their Christian friends. I adore all the decorations hanging every where, the Christmas tree and all that. It's lovely :)

I celebrate the winter solstice aka Yule. A few days prior to the 25th. I am Pagan. I also celebrate with my family by exchanging gifts on the 25th. I have a decorated tree for both occasions.

Christmas doesn't have to be a religious holiday. In a way, it never was in my family, even though we were rabid catholics. Oh sure, you had to put the presents down to go to church, but that was about it.

I no longer do anything for xmas because my husband hates it due to the fact that he always had crappy ones growing up. In spite of telling him to get over it already and open his damn presents, he just can't work up any enthusiam over it.

On top of that, the last time I had a tree the cat pulled it over. Then I clogged the vacuum cleaner hose cleaning up after it. That was the last straw.

So we do nothing. I'm not happy about it; I'd love for it to be a holiday about giving gifts that have actual meaning, as opposed to going out and buying socks just to have something under the tree.

The tree would be artificial of course.
