Call the doctor. Since you say you are allergic to many medications, would you really take the advice of a stranger and chance having a bad reaction to something?????

Yes they do hurt, don't they... I had one a couple of years back. You need to get it treated - some kidney stones (the hard stoney, crystalline ones) can be disintegrated by ultra-sound. Other kidney stones are more "fatty" or "rubbery" and don't respond so well to ultra-sound. These and any large crystalline stones may have to be surgically removed. Either way it's important to have them removed as they could cause damage to your kidneys or allow an infection to take hold.
In the meantime drink plenty of fluids (at least two litres of fluid per day). Choose an acidic drink like orange juice or cranberry juice as this might help dissolve the stone.
I found that massaging the area of my kidney and lying on a hot water bottle helped releive the pain. But the pain is supposed to be one of the most intense that a person can experience so don't expect anything other than strong pain killers to deal with it completely.
Good luck!

I've had kidney stones too so I feel your pain.If you live in an area with a Chinese medicine /acupuncturist in it call them up, tell them it's an emergency and go in. They can treat you for instant pain relief as well as give you Chinese herbs used specifically to help the stone pass or dissolve. Dissolving the stones can take up to 4 months but the acupuncture doc can at least give you some pain relief right now enough to get you through this episode.Good luck.Chinese medicine works I know I've used it for the past several years and like you as I'm allergic to a lot of common medicines. Also you might want to go to Dr. Andrew Weils website.Tons of info there.A google search will give you the web address.
