Eating less will only cause your metabolism to slow and make you work twice as hard so keep eating the same amount but increase your calorie burning. if your resting heart rate is 60, you should increase your heart rate to at least 90-100 to burn calories. A bike ride is best for doing this as it won't hurt your joints like running will. After the ride, you may want to do the squats (add weights to the squats after some time) and some other strength training. A 20 minute ride should do it. The bike ride will also make your calves and legs toned and hot.

For strength training, I would suggest situps and do as many as you can without straining and increase by 5 each week. Also pushups in the same way. You don't want to overdo it or you will get sore and not want to do it again for a while. Slow is better.

Another good excersize is to hook your feet and lean out face down over the edge of something like a couch and do reverse situps. use your back muscles to pull yourself up straight.

I used these excersizes after I hit a semi head on and was hospitalized for 6 months. I got FAT and WAY out of shape. By the end of 6 months I was back in shape and felt good and the pain was gone.

You don't even need store bought weights. A gallon jug of water weighs about 8 lbs so you can gradually increase the water and then add a second jug. Increase the repititions for a toned bum you can bounce a quarter off.
