Just tell him. Think about this, you have been his friend for 7 years, you know him better than anybody, you can find the right moment to do it or just let it go smoothly so he will be the one asking questions if he is curious or interested. He knows you better than anyone and he should know about your feelings (no smart if he doesn't) but maybe he is afraid too to tell you. Just tried if it doesn't work at least you had your chance to be honest and can get to a real situation and make new decisions about it.

Since you already like him for such a long time, tell him how you feel, you have to find the right time to do it. But be mentally prepared just in case he does not have the same feeling for you or he may just reject you. Once you have express your feeling to him, there might be a change in your relationship too. Well sometimes it is better to tell the person you like rather than regret later when you lost him to somebody else by not telling him you like him. So I do hope you made the right decision.

this just happened to me three weeks ago after knowing her for 11 years. one day she just told me we needed to talk and we went outside and sat on the tailgate of my truck and got everything out in the open. it kinda caught me off guard at first but I've never been this happy before. the best thing you can do is be open and honest with him.

Tell him, anyway you 2 have been friends for so long. If he don't want, then just carry on and be just friends only.
