Did anyone know that amnesty has been granted before, and said they were going to enforce our immigration laws, and tighten up our border, and it didnt work?
Now there is more illegals here again, wanting amnesty, and people are promising they will enforce our immigration laws..all over again, this is starting to become a pattern.
Illegals come..amnesty..more illegals come amnesty..nothing gets accomplished..
If it didn't work the first time, how is it going to work the second?
We are doomed to repeat our past, if we don't do anything about this issue..

Oh God..it's happened twice..that's even more reason not to even consider amnesty again!
If Bush wants to do anything that will please his country before his term is over..
He should do a speech, and say No amnesty!! And start mass deportation immediately..
Maybe if he do he won't be labeled as the worse president ever..

The 1986 amnesty was the one that was supposed to solve our immigration crisis ... as a sweetener to the American tax payers, we were offered, border security, citizenship proof for benefits, and penalizing companies who hired illegals ... now, 20 years later, we hear the same thing ... in 20 years after the first "big" amnesty, absolutely nothing we were promised was kept ... and now we hear the same promises again ...
It is estimated that approx one third of the illegals who are here now is the result of the previous amnesty ... and the other two thirds are newbies ...
This government has absolutely no intention of closing our borders, on the contrary, they are planning on opening the borders even wider ... read www.spp.gov ... the idea is to create a "Union" between Mexico, the U.S. and Canada, for "free flow of people, goods and services" ... to be finalized by 2010 ...
There is plenty of scary stuff out on the net ... just google for info ... the question is wider than the present "they're only here to better themselves" debate that's going around in circles on this board .......

It won't work, there is too much corruption in Congress. Too many do gooders who want to use "feel good" practicies while breaking and circumventing our laws.
The only thing that will ever help the illegal aliens who criminally enter the USA is staying in their respective countries and fighting to end corruption and thus make their country a viable place in which to work and reside.
Take Mexico: Since it is where the majority of those who STEAL from the USA originate, they have a corrupt government; Castillians of Spanish descent control the country and the poor(their slaves, so to speak).
They(corrupt Castillians) make conditions unliveable in Mexico for the poor, they encourage/help them "escape"/desert Mexico. Easiest place to raid: USA, where they do major destruction and harm to the American society and standard of living, undercut wages and send a goodly portion of those illegally obtained wages back to relatives in Mexico... that money eventually ends up in Castillian hands..... this series of events only perpetuates the cycle of: Castillian rule, desertion, steal, send money to homeland, relatives spend, Castillians collect, Castillian power is increased, conditions worsen, more desertion, etc, etc, etc.
Staying and fighting for improved conditions, stopping corruption, developing Mexico's resources, birthcontrol, etc, are the way to bettering life for the Mexican people..... stealing from the USA will not accomplish this need.... becoming a criminal is not the answer. NAFTA and GATT have done almost irrepairable harm to the USA and Mexico(not to those in power, they benefit... but the citizens do not).
Why else would the two governments fight closing the border? Corruption is on both sides. It is primarily up to the Mexican people(who say they love Mexico, but don't show it). The United States could help by closing the border and deporting all illegal aliens and their children.
Think of the skilled citizens those foreign countries would have returning. It would be a boon to their economies and for the US economy as well.

NO! The Senate's bill, or something like it, could desire to be burned with something of the rubbish! Amnesty is detrimental and incorrect! all of us that thinks deportation is greater high priced than giving the 20 to 30 MILLION criminals citizenship is ignorant! purely for the retirement expenditures, it develop into estimated to cost American taxpayers over $2 TRILLION. it relatively is money that could desire to be going to human beings, no longer the electorate of fairly some international locations. The illegals are already costing taxpayers BILLION each and each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. The anchor toddlers get welfare. They get loose coaching and wellbeing care. in case you surely think of that giving them citizenship skill that they initiate paying taxes, you're listening to the incorrect human beings. If the illegals had to start submitting a tax return, no longer purely could they pay 0 taxes yet they might get money back. case in point, Mr. & Mrs. unlawful have 5 toddlers (AKA dependants). Their tax legal duty could be decreased for their dependants. in view that they have a low earnings, this tax liabilty might very small or none in any respect. even with the shown fact that, there is a few thing interior the tax code stated as "Earned earnings Tax credit" or EIC. this means that their legal duty is decreased even extra. even with the shown fact that, say they have 0 legal duty and the credit is $500. this implies they get money back of $500 - AKA loose money from the U. S. taxpayer. In different words, the illegals nonetheless pay 0 taxes and the tax payer gets screwed!

There will be amnesty, only this time the borders will be enforced by building a wall. You can't kick us out, we are not criminals. In fact many of us are more valuable than the so called "legal" immigrants, who got a free pass and got rewarded for no merit! We work hard for many years, contribute to the US economy and deserve US residence.

If amnesty is declared again, it will be the third time.
Reagan the first, Carter the second. You are so right. It does not work, it is a big joke.

Tell ya what? Why don't we just fuse the three countries together (Canada, USA, Mexico) creating the Union of North America, and be done with these troubles. I think it would work.

I truly wish these ppl would stay in their country and fight their battles and make their countries a place that is fit to live in. Do we really want ppl here that only see and react to short term and illegal choices? I don't! The educated that have been here for years receiving free education need to go home and teach the others and lead them to a better future!

Well, I guess we'll see what happens...Mexico's economy is on life support from us, and if current trends are any indication, the more of Mexico we absorb, the worse ours is going to become. But, Congress apparently never WAS really good at math, so....

See, obviously by 'rewarding' previous illegals, it only encourages more.
If I want to sell drugs (pot, or cocaine-there is a lot of money in that business) I would be punished for breaking the law!!!
