My husband & I meet roller skating back in the early 80's. find something that you like to do. (Play sports, ride bikes, run, whatever) I am sure that at least one woman you pass is not married. If she is doing the same thing and you see her on a daily basis, strike up a conversation with her. Take the initiative and don't be offended if she doesn't respond she could just be puting up her guard because she doesn't know you.

Laundromat is a good place since your both sitting around for a while. And how about the supermarket ? You can ask her a question about something.
