Please answer more than just yes or no.

Are you offended by seeing a religious symbol of another religion? If so, why? If it doesn't bother you why not?

And what is your religion?

Persoanlly, I'm not offended. Now, if someone who knew my religious beliefs told me to WEAR a symbol other than my own, or carry it, or whatever, yes I would be.

It doesn't bother me to SEE it because they are just getting their opinion out there, letting you know what they believe, in order to avoid misunderstanding something accidentally. Say you walked up to someone and didn't know their religion, and for the sake of this arguent, lets say they were a Hindu, and you were someone advertising Hamburgers. Say they were'nt wearing anythign that might give you the slightest inkling.... how would you know that you were likely to get a very bad reaction to them. Now lets say they were wearing a symbol of Hinduism... would you be likely to try to sell them a hamburger? Probably not.
There is nothing wrong with a symbol- it is when you start forcing that religion, that symbol on other people, that it is wrong.

I am a Wiccan- I know I get heavily offended when people try to give me stuff bearing crosses and other religious symbols other than my own.

It really depends on what that religious symbol is. As far as I have experienced I have never been offended by a symbol of someone elses faith, however if their symbol was by its nature offensive then I would have to say yes, but not because of the religious ideal it stood for. It doesnt bother me because even though I dont believe as they do, they still have a right to believe in that way.

I am "Christian"

If they are displaying it tastefully, no, I am not offended. If they have a giant cross in their front yard or any other symbol of any religion with a sign that says "Believe or got to hell" or some nonsense like that then, yes, I would be offended. When that happens whether it be signs, clothing or whatever then it ceases to be a symbol of faith and instead becomes a symbol of hate and intolerance.

Im not offended by an individual displaying his faith. The only thing offensive to me is displaying religious symbols on government property.

Im Jewish.

I'm not offended at all by seeing religious symbols for another faith. I'm Asatru and always wear my Thor's Hammer. The same laws that give me the freedom to do that also give Christians the freedom to wear their crosses, Jews the freedom to wear their Star of David, Wiccans to wear the pentacle, and so on. Besides I'm secure in my faith to the point that I can look another faith in the face and not be bothered by it.

I am not offended by religous symbols.
I'm not religous.
I'm offended by the people who find it necessary to knock separation of church and state.
I'm offended by people who want to put "Jesus back into our schools".
I think people of every faith should not be subjected to one faith or another that is not their own when entering Government institutions, or schools.
As if to say that, gee, there may be freedom of religion, but this one religion supercedes all others. So, go sit quietly in the corner, you heathens, and do as we'd like, because we're going to heaven, and you're not!
I find it highly offensive when people say "It says freedom of religion, not from religion". They'd be the first ones running their mouths if religion other than their own was incorporated into Government or schools in any manner.

Im Christian and I dont find any religious symbols offensive UNLESS it is used TO offend. I don't care if someone wears a Star of David or a Pentagram but to draw a pentagram on a church door is offensive, so is spray painting a cross on a Mosque. I wear a cross sometimes, it isnt meant to offend anyone, but if looking at it offends you, stop looking at me :-D

No, I am not offended by a cross, a star, anything that is a symbol of a person's religion. I'm agnostic. What I'm offended by is people looking down on my because I'm not exactly the same as them when it comes to religious beliefs.

You know, I really am not offended as long as I can display the symbol of my religion and it not be a problem. As it is these days it seems to be okay to be anything other than Christian! That I am not okay with, if I need to respect the Jews and Muslims, they need to respect me as a Christian as well.
