Judaism probably first appeared in the time of Abraham but more acurately when the Jewish people were in the desert after God took them out of Egypt they received the Torah/Old Testament. It was approx. 3318 years ago. It is the oldest religion in the world.

Through the history of Israel, Judaism started to become a religion at the separation of the Great Kingdom of Israel, namely, Israel, which constituted 10 tribes, and Judah, which constituted two tribes: Judah and Benjamin. Also, it is believed that The tribe of Judah at the time of King David were chosen as the tribe from which the messiah shall come and rule over Israel for ever. We know that many sick people were calling Christ Son of David because they knew that the Christ will be the offspring of David who was from the tribe of Judah.

3318 years ago the Jews ditched Egypt (thanks to God) and received the Torah (bible) at Sinai. This was when they were technically a people. Abraham lived several generations earlier and is the father of the people.
