No. A majority of the fighting is done because one man wants what another has. They just twist and manipulate religion so they can use it for their purpose and attack the other.

Concidering that all worldly wars are about religeon you would think maybe it is,yet without the goodness behind having something good and worthwhile to believe in i'm tempted to believe the world would be a far more evil place.Religeon itself by the beleiver leads the majority to live a good life following basic lifes rules. So much evil exists today that more people than ever are turning towards a faith. We will always have the good versus evil syndrome.xxx

no, but the world would be a better place if people allowed others to have their own beliefs. as a pagan I can't see why most religions say theirs is the only one. what if we were all right? that there were separate heavens/ summer-lands / afterlife's. As I have many gods and goddesses it makes sense to me that some gods brake away from the group and so religions centre round them but then the followers go a little mad and we see the results today.

What would be in its place?

A religion of belief that there is what...

The key is not having no religion but encouraging religions to mature so that death is not the solution for disagrement.

Catholics got beyond the inquisition.
Protestatnts got beyound Cathlics.
Jews don't instigate wars, theirs is a missionary religion.
Islam still is in the believe it anddo it m way or die mode. Purely a immature religion that lack the intelligence to live in peace.

The majority of the fighting in this world has more to do with human behavior than religion. Often, religion is the banner they carry, but, most of them would fight regardless.
My faith is who I am. Without it, there would be no purpose. Without faith, there is only live, die, and........nothing. That would be a horrible existence.

Actually its not about religion its all about having power.Religion is not the problem, people who try to find excuses to fight to take land, oil, diamond, etc are the problem
The world will be a better place if people respected others and their beliefs

The fighting in the world is due to the depravity of mankind. Whenever the fighting starts, -the fighters have to come up with a motivational reason to kill others. This is typically in the name of community or government or god.

Now if the secularist believe that man created religion, then of course the root cause of wars then is not religion, - but again mankind.

Besides, (good) religion is very peaceable. All the latest "christian" wars has been pretty much a perversion of what the Bible says. Thank you pope??

The majority of war is caused by economics. We just veil it with religion to get the uneducated to be passionate about dying for it.

If you're going to be a communist do more research...

Absolutely not. The world would be a better place if we could all agree that there are many roads to God. He does not care which road we take, or if we choose to take no road at all. I write that very sentence so much that I feel like a broken record. Do you even know what a record is?
