I had a dream in which this demon/being was standing over me. I do not remember if it was the cause. I was in so much emotional pain that I felt like it was physically going to kill me. I woke up feeling disturbed by this. I usually not emotional in that sense.

When I do dream it is usually in pretty vivd detail. Actual feelings in the dreams are less often and have never been this intense.

Sorry to point this out, but if you sensed something that deep you must be part psychic. I've heard of cases where ppl die in their sleep, but in dreams? Not sure really.

I've also had a dream that was so realistic, I was convinced it had really happened, and as it ended I thought my husband was standing by the bed looking down at me. I struggled and struggled to speak to him, but couldn't. However, when I finally managed to come completely awake, I realised with a shock that it hadn't happened. I have read that this is not an uncommon experience - called a 'waking dream' and some other technical term which I've forgotten. It felt very very weird!

Before I got diagnosed with low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) my nightmares got that bad.

You may want to check out www.hufa.org, especially the symptoms link, to see if you have other symptoms of this blood sugar disorder.
