Christians,
Do you really feel you are doing God's work by engaging non-believers here? You're not.

If the Holy Spirit is not working on a person, nothing you can do or say is going to convince the person to turn their life over to Christ.

You are right to an extent. It is hard to witness the truth to someone over Yahoo!Answers. Defiantly if they aren't sincere! However, I would not under mind the ways that God can mysteriously work in someones life. We may not be able to convert someone over to Christianity by answering a question and quoting verses. (B/c there is more to becoming a Christian)
Our concern is to express our faith through love and outreach the lost in anyway possible. It's like planting a small seed in the heart. To get them thinking about it, start wondering, sincerely searching and finally finding the Truth. If all Christians would outreach in some kind of way, there would be lots of seeds out there ready to grow. (if u get my analogy)
Just bare with me and keep reading.....
Only thing else we can do after sharing the Truth is to pray about it and let God handle the rest. We can't force faith in God upon anyone, but without us blowing the trumpets as a warning sign, nobody would know! It is the free will of the receiver of the message to accept it or turn their back. That's why God uses us Christians as witnesses. The Holy Spirit is our Counselor, who is active in the lives of believers. When someone turns their life over to Christ, that's when they too will receive the Holy Spirit and live by the Spirit and will not desire living in the sinful nature as before. But that doesn't mean Christians are not tempted or do no wrong. Satan already knows he won the souls of non-believers, so why does he bother with them; When he has Christians to test, tempt and distroy the lives of those whom are curious.
I wouldn't say that if the Holy Spirit is not working in a person, there is nothing you can do. B/c God is in control. Even the demons believe and they tremble for God's mercy. The demons try very hard to harden the hearts and they can be deceiving. Satan is the prince of lies, and will do anything to get people not to accept Jesus. But without Satan doing his part, We can't ask for redemption. Therefore, we open our hearts for the good to come in our lives and live by the Spirit so we can have everlasting life.

I know it was kind of lengthy, but my intentions are sent with love and hope. If only those who ask Religous and Spiritual questions would be more sincere and open minded there shouldn't be a problem with getting answers from a wide variety of religons and cultures whom they don't agree with.

If the Holy Spirit is not working on a person, nothing you can do or say is going to convince the person to turn their life over to Christ.

Not so:Many of us are indoctrinated into non-believing, such that we deny the actions of the Holy Spirit; we do not know what that calling is when we do receive a message from the Holy Spirit; we are blinded by many social customs that deny a spiritual aspect of humanity; we have buried our gnosis in fear. So even though the Holy Spirit may be working in everyone, not everyone is capable of recognizing what that mysterious calling working inside them really means. Hence, those who understand what it is can help through education NOT INDOCTRINATION, NOT PIOUS PONTIFICATION, just say what you have seen and let the student decide. Also, not all humans are equally in communication the Holy Spirit -- sorry, but there are prophets, saints, and holy people who have been gifted beyond the standard populace, and they should teach.

Yeah but its fun. And its good to see the bible's predictions about the coming of the anti-christ & about the non-believers being proven.

I personally enjoy the fact that in their minds I am going to Hell simply because I do not let a book determine how to live. I have been able to do that on my own through trial and error and I am a much better person.

Unfortuanetly a good deal DO think they are.

They think that we're going to listen- they don't understand that other people are going to be set in their own beliefs, the same as they are. They don't understand that people have different truths- that is, what is true for one person, may not be true for another, especially when it comes to spirituality and religion.
