What's to believe? OHHHH YOU mean, do you participate in online dating. Not like you believe in the Easter Bunny, or Santa Clause, but if we believe, as in, take action upon... i get it. Well, believe it or not, people do date from being online. It's a different venue for socializing. There are bars to meet people to date. That has it's good points and bad points. and then there's the grocery store... not a lot of time there... and perhaps church groups, or organizations, or the library, or just walking down the street... do you believe in meeting people at a museum? or from being introduced from friends? There are all kinds of ways to socialize... you're just uncomfortable with meeting someone online. Yet, here you are socializing online. hmm...

Online dating... could also mean actually ONLY dating someone on the internet. Now that only works if they are far away... lol... so many implications.

What do you mean believe in it, I dont think its morally wrong in any way... I don't care to do it, i think its more for "older people" both of my aunts met their husbands online, so have a couple of my mom's friends... It obviously works, or it wouldn't be so popular, if your careful and dont go on a random date with a possible serial killer. but it seems to be a good way to date without having to dress up and go to a bar alone and hope that someone will start talking to you, or find someone to care about you on a deeper level and its easier to accept rejection... younger people have myspace, then once you hit 35 or so you have online dating... hahahaha

I've seen it work out quite nicely for some of my friends. I've got no problem with it. On the other hand, I've also known some people who ended up hooking up online and finding out that their date was only a few evolutionary steps above a reptile, so it can backfire, too.

Well, I do believe it exists. I don't, however, think it the ideal way to meet people, though I would be hard pressed to name what is. In the end, it may not be any worse a way to get to know a person, but the fact that you don't really know anything about a person on-line other than what they explicitly tell you would be a real problem for me.

I don't believe that this is the best way to date. Who's to say that the person on the other end is who they say they are?? I have seen recently a couple who dated on line, met face to face at the airport for the first time and he proposed right then and there. And she said yes! God bless them! Hope it works out.

I've never done it but I know a couple of people who have had long fulfilling relationships from people they met from online dating...the older you get the less you get out. online dating is just another avenue to meet someone with similar interests...even if it doesn't go anywhere.

I had fun with online dating but I'am now done with it because I found the most beautiful women in the world. I found my soon to be wife on match.com. It really does work. Just give it a chance.

Online Dating is not for younger people. I do believe it may be a great oppoutunity for busy-bee people, considering it compare and contrast everyone's personality.
Do I believe it in? Not yet, and I am very happy with my relationship now.

I have never understood how you date online. Dating means going out somewhere and doing something. ie: bowling, movies, dinner, picnic, fair. Writing to someone is not dating!!
