What the h does a modem have to do with it? Did you install the drivers on 98 for it? If so, just copy and paste the files to the jump drive in my computer!

A modem file? Be more specific. If you are trying to put files on a jump drive then you do the following:
1. Make sure your USB drive is installed, because on Windows 98 you have to install the drivers, unlike Windows XP where you just plug it in.

2. Plug in your Flash Drive
3. Go to 'My Computer'
4. Double Click on the drive letter of your Flash Drive
5. In another window drag your files to the window you just opened in the Flash Drive

You most likely are going to have to go to the manufacturer's website and download the driver for the USB drive. Once you do that, it's simple. Just install the driver and stick in the USB drive. You'll see it there under My Computer. It's then, just a matter of double clicking on the drive you find under my computer (removable drive) in one window and drag your files over to it form another window.
