There are sooooo many spankin' cute hair cuts out there for curly hair. I'm 42, fought the curlies all my life. Finally, I quit fighting and now, I just mousse up and go in the morning. Just change the color once in a while.

I have long curly hair prone to frizz. I have tried many "smoothing" shampoos and stuff like that but the only real way to go to getting nice, smooth and straight hair for me entails the John Frieda smoothing serum (get original or extra strentgh), a flat brush (round is good but it doesn't really matter), a blow drier and a flat iron (ceramic or the gold plated).
As soon as you;re out of the shower, apply a generous amount of the J.frieda serum in your hands and apply to hair (use a good sized amount for extra hold). Don't dry your hair with a towel, instead pat it dry and then use brush your hair with the flat brush while you blow dry it. Now...as soon as you are done blow drying your hair, you'll probably be left with a puffy mass of hair...but that's ok. The reason you don't want to let your hair dry out naturally is that it takes to long and also you won't be able to get your hair as straight as you want with the flat iron later on.
Once hair has been blow dried, part it and tie it up in four equal sections. I usually do one on each side of my ears, a low ponytail on the back and then the top hair on my crown. Pin them up so that they won't interfere or tangle with the section you're working on with the flat iron. I usually start on the back first, than do each side and last but not least the front.
Use the flat iron to smooth each section as best as you can. Once you are done with all four sections, then you can go ahead and run the flat iron over the parts that aren't as smooth as you'd like.
Finish it off with a little hair spray or finishing cream. Pantene has a good finishing cream. Sometimes I skip the spray or the finishing cream and just rub a little more serum on the end of my hair.
VOILA! Straight hair!
It usually lasts me about 4-5 days....since you're a busy mom you might have to do it more often...like 3-4 days.
Good luck!

not sure of the question....are you a mom to be that hopes the baby will have straight hair, or are you a mom to be that wants tips on hair straightening during pregnancy?
its all genetics really...im a mixed race mom who married a mostly irish guy and my daughter has long beautiful wavy hair, nothing like mine, except for color, so it's possible.
if you are pregnant and want to straighten your hair, there isnt any huge harm in using a chemical relaxer when you're pregnant, but if you want to be extra safe, blow dry it and/or use a flat iron. be sure to get a good spray that will protect your ends from damage.

Go to the beautician and ask to have your hair straightened. It would be really risky to try to do this at home, since you would probably cause major damage to the hair structure and might poison yourself and your child if you tried using chemical means. Some things are best left to the professionals.

You can use a flat iron. If you have really long or thick hair it can be time consuming but there are no chemical involved! You can get one at Wal-Mart for around $15.
Congrats on the baby!

using a flat iron and some styling products you can achieve a sleek straightened hair look.if you want it permanent u have to have it chemically straightened but its extremely damaging to the hair and damages the surface of the strands.
