Are you referring to:i Gen 3:14-15
14 The LORD God said to the serpent,
"Because you have done this,
Cursed are you more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you will go,
And dust you will eat
All the days of your life;
15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her seed;
He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise him on the heel."

Dust. Since all living things are made of dust (as the creation account says), the fact that the snake is a carnivore fits with that.

Thou shalt eat dust until the end of your days. This did not mean literally eat dirt, but he would be down in the dust, on his belly until the end of his days. Thou shalt bruise the heel of man, and he shall bruise thy head.
