Hi everybody:)
My daughter would like to find a friend-a cute american cocker spaniel or labrador retriever puppy.Maybe somebody can be nice and give her a small doggy?We would apriciate that.

go to petfinder.com....this is a site for resource groups....just enter your Zip code, and be AMAZED at how many great choices you have !!!.....i adopted a Great Pyrenees mix from them, and my dog Sylvester is awesome !!....check it out....try it....do a good deed....adopt a puppy !!....good luck to you, in your search for a cocker spaniel or Labrador retriever puppy !!!!

You certainly can find dogs for free in Chicago. Often there are places in the newspaper that list stuff that is to be given away or donated and the first people who call get it. Puppies are often listed there.
Animal shelters usually allow you to adopt a pet for just a nominal fee.
It's harder to find purebred dogs for free though so if that is what is most important to you, you might be out of luck.
If you're just looking for a dog that your daughter can love - there are tons out there.
Eventually, you will need to be prepared to spend some cash since the animal will need shots, food etc.

Check the classified ads. There are always puppies for free in there.
