Okay, so I just want to know why these days it is still accepted that guys can sleep with as many women as possible whether they be one night stands or casual hook-ups, and be seen as "The Man" while if a girl does the same thing she is considered a "Whore"??
This weekend some of my guy friends were talkin and comparing sex stories talking about how many one night stands they've had and all the girls they got with this summer, the whole time referring to the girls as "whores," it made me mad, their only answer for why the girls were the "whores" and they weren't was because they were guys... WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE HONESTLY?... How is it that a girl who slept with 20 guys is a "Whore" and a guy who slept with 35 girls "The Man"?? I would really like to hear guys opinions and reasonings for thinking like this?

you are right, but not all of us see it that way. another thing that always made me have to laugh is...when a guy starts bragging about how he suckered this girl in and got her to have sex with him,...how does he know that he wasn't the one being suckered?..lol!! women love sex,..most of them anyway. If you want it, then i say go get it. more power to you. it is a double standard that i have never agreed with....besides, if it wasn't for these so called w.h.o.r.e.s. that your friends were talking about,..then how much would they have gotten laid?...lol!!

I think both of those are stereotypical answers for both sexes. Any man or woman who sleeps around with more then 1 partner to me is a whore, slut, etc. Why? Cuz they're just in it for the pleasure of sex and don't really care about the feelings of themselves let alone some one else. Sorry for being straight up honest there but that's my stand on it. Sounds like you need some real "men" for friends. Guys who only want one girl and that's it. Not some jerks who sleep with every girl they can or girls who do the same with guys. Hopefully you're neither of the 2 but the 3rd. A girl who's looking for the right guy and only one.

That's a tough question to answer. You may not get much feedback from any honest guys. Some of the knuckleheads (who aren't even getting any) may reply to brag. Guys are also "man-whores" but they don't care as much about that lable, as you've seen. I guess it's just a societal thing. Women put themselves on higher standards. You call guys "dogs/dawgs", so they just perform like dogs and don't care. I guess that's why the Muslims insist that their women wear burkas so that men won't be tempted.
As a father of 2 boys and a girl, I've always taught them to respect themselves 1st.

Aggrivating isn't it?! I hear that ALOT around here from alot of guys. I knew a guy who slept w/ at least 30 something girls before he finally settled down & got married to a girl who had only been with 6 guys before him yet someone had called HER a whore. Good lord!

The reason this double standard is still in place is because of simple genetics. Men have the capacity to reproduce and spread their seed to a multitude of females, thus propagating the species, while the reproductive capacity of the female is more limited. Though the goal here is NOT reproduction, it's still more acceptable for a man to "sleep around" than it is for a woman.Men seek quantity;women seek quality.

Honestly, it's because guys make up the rules. I admit that it's not fair for girls to get freaky without being looked down upon, while a guy can sleep with 50 girls and he's seen as a hero.

OK, you said you wanted an answer so here it goes. Genetic imperative, genetically a man wants to impregnate as many female as possible to ensure that his genetic code gets passed on to the next generation. But men don't want women doing the same because she may conceive a child with some else besides him, hurting he chance to get his DNA to the next generation.
Then we could also get into a different set of rules for women's Genetic imperative.

Sounds like you need some new guy friends.
In the end, it boils down to respect. Guys who are talking like that obviously don't respect women. Not all guys are like that.
Regardless of gender, anyone who sleeps around and has a bunch of one night stands probably doesn't have a whole lot of respect for themselves and are just trying to find validation in physical relationships. Chances are they won't find it there - in the end they'll feel just as empty.

Thats what we are taught by women. Our mothers, sisters, grandmothers, girlfriends have told us that a girl who sleeps around is a whore and no good. However, as men we are never scrutinized for who we are with as long as we marry a good girl (chaste) by our female relatives.
Also, there is the biological role that men are designed to spread their seed so we do not have the hangups of sleeping around. However, women do not want to get preganant over and over again it is to energy consuming so women tend to be more reserved and selective in whom they mate with.

It's completely illogical and double standard but it does exist. It may also have something to with accomplishments between your peers. Think for a second, in our modern world, when it comes to sex, women have the power....the power of No and Yes. Therefore, to get 20 women to agree to sleep with a guy is by far harder than for a woman to get 20 guys to sleep with them. Guys are horn-dogs. If a semi-attractive woman wants to sleep with a guy, there's no uncertainty about if he will agree to it. I may be talking out of my butt but that's just one possible point on it.
