Me, and 98 are from the old dos OS's, and are part of the same "family" on the other hand 2000 was designed mainly on the NTFS Secured File system, and not as much the DOS.. 2000 was basically designed with business and networking in mind, even though the home user can still use it, and it has better support for more drivers too.

Windows 2000 is far more secure than ME or 98.
As for the difference between ME and 98, there isn't much. ME is considered the worst Windows ever.

Not sure of the difference other than ME sucks! I unfortunately had it and had nothing but problems! Either of the other two are good though.
