Is it true that dogs cannot look up? I heard that they can't. I do not have a dog to see if it is true.?

They can look up, or at least my cocker spaniel can!

No, it is not true. Every morning when I first get up out of bed, the first thing my 2 Siberian Huskies do is go into the kitchen, sit down and look up at the top of the refrigerator - that is where we keep their dog treats. So yes, they can look up.

Actually it is not true. I caught my dog looking up the definitions of several words in the dictionary just the other day

My dog used to bark at the hot-air balloons flying over the house. She could see them. She would also watch birds and airplanes. Sometimes, she would bark at those, too. Dogs can look up.

If a dog's head is level and they try to look up without moving their head, I don't think that they can see what's above them. But a dog can look up if they are able to move their head so they can, am I confusing you??? It just depends on the situation inwhich the dog is trying to look up.

Depends on the race. Our sharpei looks up and even barks at the geckos stuck to the ceiling (we live in the tropics...). The two chihuahuas never look up.

My Border Collie barks at the birds every morning much to the consternation of my upstairs neighour who she barks at as well whilst looking at them head up.

One of my shelties likes to herd airplanes and I do not live next to an airport. I guess that, at least with my dogs, they can look up!!
