YES! I was on Zoloft for several months and actually ended up getting physically sick. I had flu-like symptoms...sleepiness, aches, dizziness, etc. I couldn't figure out what was causing it to last so long (I missed 2 months of school), so we started to wean me off of all my medicines and a couple days after I stopped the Zoloft, I felt entirely better. So, yeah, it screwed me up MAJORLY.

I moved up from 50mg of Zoloft to the 100mg tablets, and did feel worse for awhile but I was just adjusting to it. Good luck, but if it doesnt get better, talk about possibly switching it around to a lower dosage or a different medicine. After awhile, Zoloft stopped working for me entirely and I had to be re-evaluated.

Zoloft and drugs in it's class can make you feel worse. If it's your first dose and you feel markedly worse, call you doctor's office and leave a message asking for him to call you in a prescription for something else.

If you suddenly feel suicidal, or painfully tingly all over, etc. then go to the ER. Some people are allergic to drugs like Zoloft, i.e. I'm allergic to Paxil.

If it made you feel worse, obviously Zoloft is not for you. Talk to your doctor and let him/her know that the prescription has sent your neurons all wonky, and you need something different. They can give you a prescription for something that may work better. It may take a few script-changes to figure out what chemicals exactly are wrong and what ones you really need.

I just started 100 mg or Zoloft and surprisingly the side effects did NOT get worse when I upped the dose. If you're feeling worse, though, you should go see your dr. right away! Good luck!

first of all, there is a difference between feeling slightly worse, and feeling horrifically worse. if you only feel very slightly worse, then give the drug some time. most psychiatric drugs take an average of 2 weeks before you start to see real results.

however, if you are feeling significantly worse, call you doctor. no point in suffering through a drug if it isnt helping you.

when u r taking psychiatric drugs, everyone has a different chemistry. for example i could not take remeron, it made me feel crazy. but i feel great and normal using effexor. so u may need to find a psychiatrist who will work with u and listen to u when u find a certain drug does not work. u should give it a week try first however, cuz some side effects are temporary.

When I was taking it, and any of the other similar drugs, I felt worse the higher the dosage got.
