I tried to make one in metal shop back in the early 50's; it was no big deal back in those days believe it or not. The teacher helped me. But in spite of his help, the task was really insurmountable. I was trying to cut tool steel on a lathe; got the barrel done, but the cylinder took forever. Eventually I gave it up; it simply took too much time and the results would have lacked the precision of a real gun, making it somewhat hazardous to fire. So my advice to you is to forget it.

You are probably better served purchasing a real weapon. The BATFE would be very interested in you, as you are manufacturing a firearm.

find a good orthopedic surgeon before messing around with making chambers and barrels.
