i dont want to get caught up in a rush of emotion, but i am falling hard for someone and i want to slow it down a bit, to make sure we are on the same page.

I know how you feel....been there done that too many times & got hurt every time. Two good things to do are to make sure you don't spend a ton of time w/ the person (especially at the beginning) & wait a while to say "I love you"...basically wait until you are sure of it...and that goes for both of you. I've seen that those two things help.

"puttin' on the brakes" is a hard thing to do when you meet someone really special.
I've been there and I haven't been able to do it very well either. try to keep a little distance between you.
and hang on for the bumpy ride (grin). hope it goes well.

if you dont want to get hurt then find out if the person likes you and if he doesnt try to move on, there is plenty of fish in the sea.

easy.. keep your distance away from him or her.. find other things to do to keep yourself occupied
then again.. sometimes space and distance makes you want that person even more!
