Our brave troops in Afghanistan and Iraq are being killed slowly for unjustified reasons (forget about establishing B*S* democracy in Iraq or hunting for OBL or Taliban leaders in Afghanistan). How do we support our kids? Should we keep them in the Middle East and pray for God to keep them safe? Should we demand our government to bring them home alive? Should we keep praising them while being slaughtered? Just tell me... how?

Jenny: voting republican is no support to our troops. Don't show your ignorance.
rockandroll: I am 50 yrs old. How can I enlist into the army? Helllllooooo!
bigmike: Iraq has nothing to do with "terrorism" as Bush said. Don't start mixing up facts and confuse the issue. Think before u open ur mouth.
Mathew: We are not at war in Iraq. Iraqis are at war within themselves. We gave them the licence to kill each other. We invaded their country and our troops are only defending themselves. Understand?
Ceroulious: you wrote too much, but did not convince me. Most our troops joined the army as a job, not as a noble thing to do. What kind of ideology are u talking about? You speak of fear as many Americans. Musharaf of Pakistan is a muslim fanatic dictator who cursed USA and harbored and supported terrorists. We still consider him an Ally. Qaddafi of Lybia can be threat to us. We still praise and support him. Mr. Maliki of Iraq is a fanatic shiit muslim (pro Hezbollah). We r dying for him.

I had a daughter in Iraq 2 years ago. I learned what to pray without ceasing means.Other than that i think we need to systmatically withdraw and them handle their own problems.

Check out www.anysoldier.com. You can send a letter or care package. They need supplies, comfort food, books, etc. Some guys don't get letters from home. We need to tell them that we are thankful for them. And for crying out loud, don't talk to them about the war or politics.
www.anysoldier.com
you can pick a soldier and you aren't obligated to keep sending letters or packages
www.soldiersangels.com
you adopt a soldier. they assign one to you and you send letters or care packages. I've adopted 3 so far and they really appreciate the support and love. They know we are thinking of them and that we care.
Oh, and I do support the war for lotsa lotsa reasons. My cousin volunteered last year and a guy from our small church. I also know people re-enlist for 2-3 tours and they know we are doing good in Iraq. We need Iraq as an ally. From what I understand, the Iraq soldiers are starting to take over out there and they are the ones that are really taking the casualties. (but I do agree with people that we have made lotsa military errors out there)
***How can any American say they don't support our troops, whether for or against the war. The soldier doesn't decide if he wants to go to Iraq. He obeys orders. Only an ignorant person would blame a soldier!!!

I surely have a feeling which you're no longer an American. With that pronounced, the yank militia is physically powerful, advantageous and has consistently secure us all international extensive. maximum human beings do help the troops. it is purely some that talk out against them. we are able to consistently help out militia.

If terrorists suddenlystarted wholesale slaughter in our nations major cities, would you yell as loud for the Government to defend Americans??
We cannot and should not stick our head in the sand and hope it all goes away. Since 1986, terrorists have attacked us more than once and 911 was just the peak of it. Think back to the Marine barricks in Beriute, the WTC when they blew up the truck in the parking garage, and of course, Oklahoma City.
When do you stand up against a group or organization, that just because your not muslim, think its OK to kill you in anyway they can??
We better put up or shut up cause if we ever stop our misson of keeping them off guard, it would be a blood bath in OUR streets.

We are at war! If you don't understand that you will never understand why people die during a war. Just imagine if the month after D-day people would have started crying that we were losing our young people. If we had would you have written this in German. Of course not, Hitler would have never allowed the Internet. We kill 40K plus people each year in traffic accidents, should we stop driving.

What in the world have so many people been drinking in America to become so unbelievably ignorant of human nature and world affairs?
Let’s start with this premise; the United States armed forces are a 100% VOLUNTEER army. This means that 9 of 10 soldiers, whether they are in Iraq or supporting those stateside who are, do NOT share your feelings.
You see, they joined the army because they saw it as a noble thing to sacrifice of themselves so that our nation may remain the greatest country in the world. They understand that danger does not always shout out a warning. They understand the correlation between Islamo fascism and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. They understand that, if left to the left wing ideologues, this country would perish while those peace makers experimented (again) trying to negotiate with people who have no interest in negotiation.
Open your eyes. Do you believe that if we shipped every last soldier home tomorrow, the war would end? Do you believe that the terrorists would leave the United States alone? Do you think if you close your eyes others can’t see you?
This is an ideology we are fighting. An ideology that preaches women are on par with the rights of animals. One that firmly believes that their edict---their non-negotiable edict---is to KILL the infidels. The infidels will convert or be killed and they will tell you to your face they would prefer to kill them. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, Infidels would encompass any man, woman or child who has not pledged his or her life to Islam. This is an ideology that howls in the delight of sawing off the heads of innocent civilians whose only crime is not to be a Muslim. This is an ideology that believes it perfectly acceptable to strap a bomb to the bodies of their own children, send them into a crowded market or restaurant and not only kill themselves, but take as many innocent people as possible----age or gender has no relevance. This ideology is one of the 6th century and has no place in an age of enlightenment---none.
It will take many years, decades likely, to root out this cancer and to educate those who have never before been educated as to their evil and the light the rest of the world offers them in exchange for peace.
The longer those of you who espouse the views of this questioner disregard the reality of life on this planet in this year. The longer those people refuse to understand that not everyone thinks as they do with compassion and hope. The longer they put their heads in the sand and pretend things are not as they are. The longer they are unwilling to sacrifice a relative few (and remember these young men and women make that brave decision themselves) for the billions of people around the world to live in peace and without fear…….. the more young men and women you claim to wholeheartedly support will die and the longer this struggle will go on.
YOU impede THEIR progress. YOU have a direct impact on these things with you Pollyannaish drivel that makes other question the cause. You have grown fat, complacent and apathetic about the REAL world, because to most other people around the world----you live in a dreamland called the United States. You likely have never wanted for anything significant in your life. You have benefited from a lavish lifestyle, relative peace, a decent income, food on the table a roof over your and your children’s heads, etc., etc., etc. And all the while you are so arrogant and naive at the same time as to believe that if we only just “talked it out” with this scourge we could come up with a sensible solution.
I hope more of “those” people come around and begin to be intellectually honest and more curious about the world around them. In the end---I fear they will remain clueless until a dirty bearded man with olive skin stands above them with a knife to their throat and praises Allah as he ends your life.
Wake up- the answer to your question is that you support the troops by supporting the REASON AND THE ACTIONS they have pledged their life to and to do so vocally to your friends’ neighbors and co-workers.
PS.
The questioner added, in part, this statement after reviewing answers:
"Most our troops joined the army as a job, not as a noble thing to do. What kind of ideology are u talking about? You speak of fear as many Americans. Musharaf of Pakistan is a muslim fanatic dictator who cursed USA and harbored and supported terrorists."
Take a careful look---seem to you to be the serious question of a concerned American---you be the judge. And by the way, here in America, we dont need to join the military for a "job". We have lots of jobs---last I checked unemployement was around 4.5%. Nobody joins the military, knowing they may die, for the kind of money the military pays.
As for convincing this poser of anything..........I have as little ambition to convince you of my (our) beliefs as you do to convince me to be a fanatic like yourself. The difference is that I don't hide in the dark, or pretend to be anything other than who I am. I speak clear and unambigiously like most Americans---something I'm certain is a difficult concept for you to grasp
