i quit smoking and gained weight, too. I have dropped a few lbs from eating the slimfast bars for breakfast and lunch and I eat a light dinner (1 meat, 2 veggies, sometimes some starch like bread or rice) But I also cut out red meat big time. I was only eating fish -tuna, salmon, tilapia, catfish-you name it. That and skinless chicken breasts. But what I have noticed about the slimfast bars is that you lose weight really slow..like only 2 lbs a week, BUT it stays OFF! I think that is the important thing-keeping the weight off because I can lose weight real easy but I always gain it back real quick, too. I think when you lose weight real slow, you body won't think it's starving so it will let go the extra weight without thinking it's starving. I went on that slim fast diet for only 3 weeks and lost 6 lbs, but then I had to stay at my mom's place and i've been pigging out for the last 4 weeks but I still weigh the same. I'm back on the bars now though, sometimes I eat it for breakfast, sometimes breakfast and lunch. Try the Slimfast Optima Chewy Granola ones. I've found those to be the most filling and holdover til the next time to eat. Remember to cut back on snacking-only fruits or something really healthy if you do..but try to cut that out altogether.

Hi, i quit smoking just over a year ago and i tell ya what the pounds jump on me soooo bad ( food just seems to taste better).But anyhoo, the way i understand it is you have to do more cardio( it's the sweating that burns calories) and LESS carbs, like no white bread or white rice ect, more fruits and vegs, and treat yourself to a snack that you really like (once in a while). The process is slow, but that means your body is losing weight with out stressing it( if that makes sense). Diets generally don't work, because you eliminate certain food groups and that starts cravings, then you tend to binge or overeat. Losing weight is a total lifestyle change and you have to do it at the pace your body will respect. I hope this helps...peace soulsista

If you quit 1 bad habbit, don't replace it with another, like food. Your metabolism might have slowed as you get older, don't look for a diet plan, stick too a new life style.Find what works for you. Eat whatever you wish for breakfast(make it your main meal) , then, eat lighter in the day, stop eating totally after a certain hour, (do not eat anything after dinner). Fluids, most important. Substitute smoking , something to keep your hands busy, like eating sunflower seeds.Give it time. Don't diet, just live.

It's basically a simple diet but you must be strong cause it's a tough one
Monday-Only Vegetables except tomatoes
Tuesday-Only fruits and tomatoes
Wednesday-Only berries
Thursday-Milk products except for butter
Friday-Again only vegetables
Saturday- Only fruits or berries
Sunday-ONLY juice
With this diet you can loose 3-4 kilograms in one week but don't do this too long or you'll feel weeked
Also you can count calories.No more than 800 per day.In 10 days you'll lose also about 3-4 kilogram-es

That happens alot. Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. Here is how it works. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.
But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.
So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. yoga, do somthing to de stress yourself, alot of people smoke due to stress and when they quit the stress just piles on, i know been there done that, smoke free for just over 2 years myself . try to get some relax-time and just chill abit every day to take some stress off.
