To answer someone else's question, and yours: The magic had a K attached to it by Crowley who decided he wanted to differentiate between stage magic like you see in Hollywood and the magic the Golden Dawn practices. When Gardner came along he adopted that into Wicca.

Now, for the other thing:

You might want to hold off on teaching or calling yourselves a coven until you have been in Wicca for a bit longer cause I know you are new. I would form a study group first. All of you can get together, study books and websites, talk, and just hang out.

Technically only 2 people can be a coven, but you might still want to hold off a bit. Give yourselves a little while longer. In the meantime just study a bit more.

The best thing I can tell you, if you are looking to form is acoven, is at tis point, your not ready. You've only just begun- there is alot to learn. If you need help, the best thing to do is to ask questions when you go to your local pagan/wiccan/metaphysical stores, and to ask other practitioners. If you google Wicca or Pagan, you should come up with alot of stuff. Also, withcovx.com is good site. Also, Geocities has several Pagan/Wican sites as well- I myself am working on my own, if you want to check it out and get some ideas.

Personally (and this is my opinion) I believe that it takes more than three to make a coven. You can certainly try it, but if you do so, I wouldn't pick out a High Priest or Preistess when it is only you three still- more than liekly, that will only cause problems at this point.

I've been studying for almost seven years now- and while as a Solitary, I may know a thing or two, I still wouldn't feel that I am ready to lead a Coven- it is a huge responsibility, and huge undertaking.

Relly, there is only one thing that matters in Wicca- does it feel right? Anotherwords, are you comfortable with it? if doesn't and you aren't, then it's something you shouldn't be doing. Maybe you simply shouldn't do it period, or you should wait and try when you've got more experience and truly know what you are doing. I've only recently started writing my rituals- beore, I wouldn't have been comfortable with it.

It's okay to only want to do the spell end of it for a while,as long as keep in the two major 'laws'- An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will, and Ever Mind The Rule of Three. Also, it is a good idea to stay away from the love stuff- Every one I have talked to about it, has messed up their life or someone else's- even me.

I would highly recommend you get the book Wicca: A guide for the solitary practioner by Scott Cunningham. Learn about the religion first - individually and maybe even as a study/practice group. Once you are further along on your path, then you can decide if you want to start a coven. Many occult shops have open rituals for the Sabats and Esbats that you can attend without being a coven member.
Bright blessings!

Form a Sharing or Learning Circle and study together. Covens of people under 18 are NOT taken seriously by the Pagan community, plus, you should NEVER teach until you have been studying for at least 5 years.
Listen to the people who posted abouve.

If your gonna practice then practice with them. DOnt START a COVEN with them. Practice until you are sure this is what they want to do. Make sure you truly tell them the law of three and how things WILL come back to you. Having people to practice with is a good way to build energy and do craft work, but in the end a coven is a tight nit group that shouldn't be taken lightly. Just solitary practice and know your craft and the deities you like to work with and incorporate others who like to practice the same way.

"Intent" is one of the most important things in Wicca. I'd question them about their intent first before teaching them anything about the Craft.

The classic number for a coven is 13. But if you don't have that number, you can still make it work. Try at least for a balance in numbers between the males and the females.

Dear, haven't you only been Wiccan for just over a week?

Learn together, but don't go in trying to "teach" them. You can learn together and practice together without anyone trying to be the leader. You'll all find that you have different abilities, too. Perhaps yours *is* leadership or ritual staging or organization (I became co-elder of a coven after gaining a reputation as a "Pagan Martha Stewart"), but please let it flow naturally.

Also, please consider how your aunt(s) and uncle(s) will take this, and how it may affect your parents' relationship with them. Hopefully they're fine with it, and many parents are, but many parents are *not*!

Your profile says you are 16 years old. No true Wiccan usually teaches any one under 18 years of age, They may answer questions about the practice and obligations of their craft, but many are still learning and will learn for their entire lives. You are not qualified to teach or to experiment with such things misinforming other children.

There are many sites on the Internet that are bogus and proclaim to to be wiccan. They are not trustworthy and when they recruit minors and/or underaged youngsters., they prove it. Have discussed this with many inspired practitioners and they do not recognize such teaching as being in accordance with Wicca teachings. All else is foolish. So mote it be!

I had fallen far off from the Catholic Church at approximately 13, while i began out asking skeptical questions, and have been given no useful solutions. i grow to be an agnostic for extremely virtually ten years, and then began searching for something which made greater experience to me. My spouse had began examining approximately Pagan faiths often, and Wicca in specific, and that i grow to be purely marginally involved, yet i grow to be trekking interior the extreme floor to the East individuals slightly, and that i sat down below a tree and watched the meadow and flow under me, and that i had a unexpected, and fairly deep, useful journey. I observed how existence grow to be divided between the genders, each and each complimenting the different, and each and each desiring the different, and suddenly lots of what my spouse have been speaking approximately appeared to click into place for me. As I persevered to sit down down, surprised, I had something greater...very own ensue to me. i'm able to purely liken it to a Christian's account of in my opinion connecting to God. It grow to be in simple terms like that. The Lord and lady have been there with me, by some ability, and that i ought to work out that the creation reflects the writer, and that, as such, there grow to be a God and a Goddess. After that, it in simple terms had to do with countless learn. i grow to be a believer, and now i had to comprehend greater. it is 18 years later now, and that i'm nevertheless getting to understand.

You can start a study group. Best to wait till you're all 18 to form a coven.
