I don't believe that you would get points for that. If you were to be applying to the USMA or something like that then yes, you would get points.

If you were under the age of 18, or under the age of 25 and enrolled in an accredited college or university, when he died there may be some benefits to which you are entitled. Check with your local Veterans' Affairs office.

the only thing i can tell you is call the military and ask them what rights you have as a child of a vet. good luck
