Remember the Golden rule:

He who has the gold, makes the rules.

Yes we are special. Getting less special everyday. And I bet my kids will be hopping the fence to Canada soon for better work; And I hope they treat us better than we do mexicans, but that's neither here or there.

And remember, always try to be a Mexi-CAN not a mexi-Can't.

What do you mean by they come and go? is the same deal for an American to enter Mexico than to a Mexican enter the USA thru the proper channel. Americans have to have a passport and go thru customs just as Mexicans when they come to the USA. You mean why Mexican with no papers can't come in... well that is just common sense right?
To live in Mexico for an American is pretty difficult, you can ask many Americans that have homes in Mexico they have to pay all this fees that I dont know where they come from! and where do the money goes to ???. To get a Mexican residence takes years!!! if you are lucky to get one, so no, is not easier is basically the same- -- if you are just talking about people with documents or people going on vacation.
You also have to understand that USA is first world country, so yes, everything is different and works different. There are MANY Mexicans that come and go to the USA as they please.. why??? because they have passports and visas! and money of course...

I think you're a bit confused. Mexicans certainly can "come and go" into this country, just as Americans can "come and go" into Mexico. The conflict is around actually migrating to live and work in another country. Nobody is suggesting (at least as far as I know) that Mexican citizens can't visit the US, shop here, etc. and vice versa. The problem is about legally working, raising children and taking advantage of services that are supposed to be for US citizens. We need to come to some kind of reasonable compromise that will let Mexican people take advantage of the job opportunities in this country, have the benefit and protection of the law, and the same services that American citizens are entitled to so long as they share the same responsibility for paying taxes, etc. that everyone else does. Also, we need to be able to ensure that dangerous criminals and drug traffickers are not allowed to run wild. There is a reasonable middle ground for compromise on this issue, but unfortunately it is being used as a political football by both parties.

I disagree with the person who says that Americans are "grilled" when trying to enter Mexico. That is just not true. For Americans, it is not a matter of Whether you will be allowed in the country, it is a matter of how many days they will grant you (30, 60, 90 or 180). And if you hope to extend your stay beyond the time frame they give you, it is really not very difficult.

Most Mexicans who attempt to enter the United States are denied a visa. Period. And in their attempts to obtain a visa, they have to show much more documentation than United States citizens have to when entering Mexico (ie financial account information, specific destination & plans, proof of their intention to return to Mexico, etc...).

The difference is indeed money.

Many tourists go and spend stupid amounts of money in Mexico (a third world country) and the Mexican government realizes that hassling tourists is not good for business. Tourism is one of the top three or four industries in the country, after all.

The Mexicans who illegally come to the United States generally come because they don't have much money and know that it is easy to earn much more here than in Mexico, even though their job market is significantly limited.

It's because the majority of the people who go to Mexico are tourists and will not stay. In versus people come to the USA to work. Just think about it, if American companies move all their business to Mexico for cheap labor, then the ones who will be crossing the borders will be americans to get jobs.

If Mexicans would only come and GO. Thats the problem. They dont go, they stay, illegaly. Try doing that in Mexico and your *** will end up in a Mexican jail, where you DO NOT want to be, trust me. I have lived on the border between Mex. and US for many years, if your from a northern state, you really have no idea. Its not just about mexicans, its the idea that anyone at anytime can get into our country and stay. Not only mexicans cross the border. Illegals from s.america are in the mix also. Cubans, Haitains, you name it. The only solution is to close the border. No one gets in unless they have proper documentation and then when their visa runs out, they better leave or they will be tracked down and imprisoned for failure to do so. To even get a work visa to work in Mexico is a big deal. You have to have a passport, drivers liscense, and they check it for tickets, pay outrageous costs they say go to taxes, and so on. Dont event think about staying over a couple of days, you will probably just be shot if the policia think its too much trouble to haul your butt to jail.

Mexicans allow americans to go over their, because they are bringing their business with them. Not only "we" are being treated like we are invading, but we are also taking their jobs away from the americans. This is not a problem for the Mexicans, sooner or later the americans are going to try to get in Mexico to "try" to get a job.

The people who are going to Mexico are visiting and going about it the legal way. The illegals are exactly that, ILLEGAL! You dont see Americans trying to swim through the river to get to Mexico. I dont know why someone in their right mind would want to go to Mexico in the first place! You are an IDIOT! If you wanted to visit and never come back, we wouldnt miss you.

Americans can come and go to Mexico because we have a visa and we can afford it. Mexicans can cross the border if they have a visa. But a lot of the people you hear of crossing the border are illegal immigrants. Illegal Immigrants are people who can not afford to cross the border legally, so they cross over the border fences, without getting caught (hopefully). the people of the US are not bullies and they don't do whatever they want. its just illegal to cross a National border without a visa.
