Condoms can protect billions of people from many diseases.

I suppose that Christian Church wouldn't like those people to die because of such diseases.

Please differentiate between doctrines. The Catholic church is the only one teaching against birth control. The rest of us don't have moral problems with family planning and the use of condoms. There are a lot of Christians out here, so don't be so quick to generalize.

Christians use condoms AND birth control. (and christian teens are horny too) It's the catholics that don't use condoms. But give the catholics credit. They mean well. If we didn't have any condoms, we'd have like 12 brothers and sisters. Just stop and think about that for a minute. Not the crappy one or two we have now. Sure, more people would die of Aids and STD's, but, wouldn't Christmas dinners be a lot more fun? I think there is a balance out there somewhere.

You people amaze me with some of the crap you ask about the Christian church. There is only one group in the christian church that has any objections to birth control and that is the Catholic church. I can assure you as a nurse and a Christian that I have never, ever heard of any Christian group take any stance on birth control other than the Catholics. As a mother of a now married son, and a Christian who didn't wear Rose colored glasses, you can bet that I "preached" safe sex to my son and yes that included condom use. Now there are probably a lot of parents from all walks of life, Christian, non Christian, atheist, agnostic, and anything that you can come up with who don't talk about safe sex with their kids because they are :
(A) uncomfortable talking about the subject.
(B)are wearing those rose colored glasses
(C)are dumb enough to think that they have the child that due to their teaching
won't be experimenting with sex.

It would really be refreshing if one of you would actually come up with a new, well thought out, question to bash the Christian church with. When you find a thinker among you have him/her come up with something.

Catholics are the unique Christians. the 1st church, which Christ began became the Catholic church. For the 1st thousand years, there became basically one Christian Church. In 1054, it chop up into 2 branches, the jap Orthodox Catholic Church and the Roman Catholic Church. there have been in elementary terms 2 Christian branches for yet another 500 years. In 1518, Martin Luther began a third branch, Protestantism. The third branch splintered into many denominations. you're possibly recognizing that Catholics are no longer Protestants. the unique Christian Church continues to be Catholic. The Amish is definitely one of the Protestant denominations. Jehovah Witnesses are no longer a Protestant denomination yet an offshoot of Christianity using fact they suspect Jesus is the angel Michael and not the Son of God.

I'm a Christian and I have never heard that condoms are NOT approved by the church so really I don't have a clue what you are talking about!!!! We just don't have sex before marriage but when you are married of course you can have sex with or without a condom!!!!!

No. The Catholic church is opposed to all forms of birth control, and even though condoms do prevent disease, they are not approved by the Catholic church because they also prevent pregnancy. Other Christian denominations do not oppose their use, but they don't endorse any particular kind, either.

I can only speak for the catholics - NO birth control, except the good ol' ineffective rhythm method - is allowed.

It's not that they say "well, you sinned, you deserve herpes." It's more about "Do not have sex before you are married, and never have sex with anyone other than your spouse, and you'll be fine."
