You are doing the best for your kitty. She will not be mad at you; she'll just be happy to be home again. She will be so much healthier thanks to you. Because you had her spayed, she will be less likely to develop breast cancer, she will not develop ovarian cancer, and she won't have to suffer through heats. There should be more responsible pet owners like you.

You are doing the correct thing! Some cats, after awaking from anesthesia, are just as docile and alert as when they came in, and some are confused and groggy. Either way, she WILL forgive you. After all, you are only making all of her 9 lives better!
She will probably be a little groggy when you pick her up and may want to sleep more than usual. Pain meds are typically given before surgery and several hours later (before bedtime) depending on the meds. They should keep her relatively comfortable. Most cats do great after a spay, but watch the surgery site...check for swelling and redness, any fluids that are seeping, and make sure it is not "gapping" open (I don't know if your vet uses sutures or a surgical glue to close. Either do a fine job) Laser surgery ensures that there is minimal bleeding. The clinic i worked at used one and it did a fine job for spays.
I think you probably have nothing to worry about!

Cats tend to change quite a bit after they have been spayed, but usually for the better. They get more cuddly and want to spend alot more time with you, another thing that i noticed is that they also get alot more playful. The only thing that concernes me is that that spay procedure isn't always guaranteed, and unless she's an indoor cat and there's no males in the house there's always going to be the possibility that you still will have kittens. Just a heads up anyways. But as for will she still love you? well i think the more cuddly playful kitty of yours will tell you that herself once she's recovered (and maybe before that!)

You are doing your cat a great favor! She will not be mad at you. Maybe just a little frightened and confused.
The best thing you can do for your cat is to get a bottle of Rescue Remedy from a health foods store. You just shake the bottle well and put three of four drops on the fur between her ears. Treat her about three or four times a day for 3-5 days. Believe me this will help with the emotional healing from the trauma of being at the vet's, being away from her home and you, and waking up with a sore tummy.
A bottle of Rescue Remedy is about $20. You can treat yourself too by putting a few drops in a small glass of water and sipping it for a while.
There is nothing you can do for her that will help her more. It is inexpensive, effective, can do no harm and will not interfere in any way with the pain medications she may have. Please do your cat this favor!

When I spayed my cat I was expecting to have her back to normal a few hours after she came home (every website that encorages you to spay or neuter your cat swears that's the way it happens). But it wasn't like that at all and I wans't prepared for it. She is probably going to be under anesthesia during the surgery so you have to expect she will be drowsy and strange the first 24 hours. My cat refused to eat the first 24 hours and just wanted to be left alone, she hissed if we came close to her and tried to bite us if we touched her. I read in cat forums about other people's experiences, some cats don't drink or eat and want to be left alone. Don't take it personaly you are doing what is best for your cat and she will eventually forget about what happened and be her normal happy self , just make sure to keep an eye on her in case something comes up.
I wish your kitty a fast recovery, mine took 4 long days to be back to normal!. Her personality might change a little bit while her kitty hormones settle down.

Nurse to nurse, she will probably give you a few dirty looks when you pick her up-understandable. But remember she will be heavily medicated and just plain happy to find her own smells and bed when she gets home. She will need to be quiet for a few days and go back to the vet to have her stitches removed. But you will be shocked how fast her post op recovery is going to be. Every cat I have had spayed has just about had to be restrained from playing and jumping after surgery.
Yes, she will forgive you. Remember cats live in the moment and you are the one rescuing her from the nasty vet's office right?

yes she will forgive you. As a matter of fact the medication may make them forget what happened. I took my cat to get fixed and he came back so confused and dazed from the experience. The vet said to keep him in the cat carrier(mine is very big!) until the next day so he does not hurt himself while under influence of the meds. I'm sure female cat is no different when it comes to this. My cat stopped spraying and became lazy afterward so think your cat might do the same. I also spolied him with soft cat food and water with ice cubes for a while to make him happier. Hope this helps

Well, I have some feral cats living in the back yard. I trapped 5 last week and had them all fixed. Even though they spent 24 house in a cage and were pretty uncomfortable they are all still in the yard and "speaking" to me.
I don't think you have anything to worry about. I've had literally dozens of cats spayed and neutered (both house pets and feral) and not a single one of them has been upset with me when they got home.
She might be uncomfortable when she gets home but she'll still want pets and love from you.

She will be fine. The last time you took her to get her shots, she was probably mad about that, but she got over it and still loves you. Now she can have all the sex she wants and will not get pregnant. It is better than the pill!!!
My sisters yellow lab has a skin irritation that she has to be dipped for once a month for 10 months, and when my sis picks her up from the vet she is always depressed acting, but the next day she is always fine.

She will probably be a bit lethargic and sleep a lot after coming home. After the grogginess wears off, she may be a little irritable....or she may not. It all depends on your cat's personality. Just make sure she's able to rest comfortably and don't encourage playing or jumping for at least a week after the surgery.
And she'll eventually forget about it. So even if you think she's giving you dirty looks, it won't last forever:)
