First, Internist to determine gall stones and order tests by a Radiologist. Next, Gastroenterologist for before and after care!! Finally, Surgeon if Gastroenterologist says it's necessary to remove. I had my gall bladder taken out a month a go laproscopically with ERCP 3 days later. A gall stone got stuck not only in my bile duct, but in my pancreas also. Incredible pain! REMEMBER, THE GASTORENTEROLOGIST IF YOU STILL HAVE PROBLEMS AFTER SURGERY. YOUR INTERNIST WILL ALWAYS SAY TO TAKE IT OUT BUT THE GASTROENTEROLOGIST MAY SAY NOT AND HE IS THE EXPERT HERE!

See your internist and, if necessary, he will have the appropriate tests done and/or recommend a specialist. There is no such thing as a Gall Stone doctor - they're caused by high uric acid concentration and your cure could be change of diet!

I would start out with your family physician or the doc you usually see and they will most likely refer you to a surgeon if surgery is necessary. Good Luck, had my gall bladder removed the old way with a huge scar back in 1989 (showing my age here)! Take care

Gall stones surgery involves removal of the gall bladder which is the only solution.Itis called cholecystectomy surgery. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges General surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.
I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as General surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your Hernia surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
My cousin got her Cholecystectomy surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps

An Internist will have you see a Radiologist to diagnose what type of stones, where they are in the bile duct, will they pass or are they small enough to be occasionally painful and not require surgery.

Go to your family doctor first, or to emergency if you are having an attack. You will know it if you are having an attack because it hurts like hell!! From there you may get an ultrasound and then referral to a surgeon. Don't wait .. they are nasty! Good Luck to you.
