Try eating a bowl of oatmeal every day. Oatmeal is great with reducing cholesterol. Like Cheerios? Cheerios also is good with helping to reduce cholesterol, but the natural oats are best.

An herb called hawthorne berry is also great with reducing cholesterol. Before taking any medicinal herbs, you should consult your physician.

Soluble Fiber: Adding foods high in soluble fiber such as flax and whole oats clean the bad cholesterol out of your arteries. If you can stand to eat a bowl of oatmeal every morning, that would probably be all you would need to do. Otherwise, putting a spoonfull of ground flaxseed on your cereal would work as well. If you don' t want to do either of those, daily aerobic exercise (i.e. cycling, running, swimming, etc) might control it enough. Of course diet AND exercise combined is the best way to control LDL or bad cholesterol.

Cholesterol does not come from eating cholesterol-- only in animal foods, not plant foods. But it is caused by saturated fat which animals foods have a lot of. Try drinking soy, rice or almond milk. They have chocolate and vanilla. See this site for lots of healthier foods to help you plus tells why switching from beef to chicken does not help.

its more of what makes it worse that you shouldn't eat rather than things to eat to make it better. the body produces its own cholesterol. there is no dietary requirement for cholesterol whatsoever. i would analyse my diet and remove everything from it that has with cholesterol, meat and dairy, refined fats, saturated fats, and trans fatty acids. then i would go out of my way to find good fats and eat those, nuts and seeds are a great source of essential fatty acids.

My mom cut her cholesterol by eating a bowl of oatmeal every morning for breakfast. Not the pre-made, flavored kind in the packets, but real Quaker oats.
