Sure. I don't see how your religion would prevent you from doing your job. I doubt that many correctional officers have ever had to shoot an inmate, at least not without it being entirely in self-defense.

Force and shooting inmates is not what is required inside the prison cell but for the criminal (hardened or not,) 98% needs to be forced to follow the rules inside.
Officers are trained to be extra hard than the offenders who are very hard to be controlled. Officers are trained to use discretion and underwent subjects on psychology knowing when to cajoule or use brute force. Jews were said to be the Sons of God, but in many times they are at war, they show no mercy to their captured enemies.
There were many priests and religious leaders in all parts of the countries in the world who have led revolutions through arms struggle. The Muslim fundamentalists we call terrorists, in their mind they consider themselves man of God. Do you think there will be any difference between correctional officers and these people? Of course not, it is the call of duty to be harsh or to be consoling. Then, inside the cell we have special person of God who primarily teaches righteousness, conduct religious services and oftentimes even charity works.

Yes, a man of God can enforce the law and do so with compassion and self-restraint. What we need is more Godly people in law enforcement, resisting the temptation to lie or to seek their own form of justice or to express rage or malice or racism. A Godly person can work within the law for the best interest of all concerned.

A real ´´man of God´´ will probably be the most qualified for the job; That is unless he has a different type of call from God.

Have you ever watched Dog The Bounty Hunter. That is a man of God. And He is very rough on the people he catches but he also listens to them and shepherd's them and gives them advise, so yes I believe a man of God can be anything He wants to be as long as He seeks The Lord about it .

Okay, let's ponder a few thoughts here...we are all of God...we are all here living in a place created by God...good correctional officers are as needed as good babysitters, as smiling store clerks, as volunteer fire depts., as effective teachers, as proficient marines...agreed?
Sooo...do you feel that tasks of such jobs, if performed with true intent, or God-less? What if, instead, you saw your job as an opportunity to reflect your knowing of Godness...not your talk, but your walk, Hon...yes, you are in an unusual environment (aren't we all, really?)...but you're protection of a single person in that prison, could be exactly what that one & only person needed to see that he, too, is a God-son (or daughter)...your action(s) gave him another day to ask a question, read a book, listen to a song...all ways of finding his answers, his own knowing....Seeeee?
There is good/bad, up/down/, right/wrong...in all things here....and the folks you are working with & around are also in those dualities...and making their choices about them & with them...for each their own spirit purpose...see this in them...see each & every one of them as entities of the Godhead...know that each will eventually go Home, as well...that each are unconditionally loved--equally...what greater gift could you give your own soul??? What grander example of Godness can you reflect???
Now, if you feel that your job provides no hope for your own spirit growth as you see it, then my only advice is to change that situation...find what fills your heart with joy...someone else will take your place...will they be as effectual as you could be? Who knows, but that would not be your worry, either, now would it?

depends on what you mean "man of God". We refer to "man of God" meaning he is a priest. Maybe you meant "man of God" as just a person who believes in god.
Men go to war every day and they are christians, they shoot their firearms. So does that mean that no one can protect themselves or go to war?
