About 1-2 months after they start to walk. Trust me it will be much easier in the long run. You'll feel bad about training them so young but it will be worth the short term heart-ache.

When they start showing interest in it. Potty training is a touchy thing. You have to know when the child is ready. Also, you need to make sure if the child starts to regress from it that you stop. Doctors recommend to let kids do it on their own time and not to push them because that will cause them to regress even more. Just start talking about using the potty and eventually ask them if they want to go on the potty. If they say yes then that's probably a good indication that they are ready. If they say no then wait awhile. Good luck and God bless.

My eldest was potty trained at 18 months, but she wanted to and took me 4 days to have her completely trained for day and night time. My youngest was 24 months, and still didn't have interest in potty training and took me another year of training for 100% dryness. Each child is different, but I'd start introducing the portable potty to a child at around 18 months and get him / her used to it being around and maybe the interest will be there for the child. May not be immediate, but you never know.

Age isn't a good indicator of when they're ready. And girls are usually ready before boys. I taught your preschool and I had some girls that were ready at 18 months and other kids that didn't really get the concept until they were pushing 4. When they can tell you that they need their diaper changed is a good indication that it might be time to get a mini-potty and let them start getting used to sitting on it.

When they start showing an interest. We are going to start training our soon in the next week or so. About the last 2 months he has been following us into the bathroom and watching us go, and the other day he tried to pull his diaper off and did the sign for poop right after he went. He just turned 2 on the 10th.

When your child can hold their uring during sleep. That's a good indicator.
Age doesn't really matter. My aunt was trained at 12 months. And my brother at 14 months. Me, not until 2 years.

I'm not exactly sure, but I've heard that if your child can hold their urine during a nap, it's a good indication that they are ready to begin because they are showing control of their bladder. I wouldn't start before 18 months though - preferably 2 years.

Girl...18 months.
Boy...24 months.
Mostly it depends on if they are interested. Put the potty in the bathroom, and every time you go, take them too.

around a year old. if you start late, they won't get used it and are more reluctant to potty train. but it is best to start young because the baby's mind is probraly more accepting....
