The capitalistic system of the US depends on cheap, unskilled labor. For some to be wealthy, others must work hard for almost nothing. Illegal immigrants are the only ones in this nation that are willing to work hard labor under oppressive conditions for little wages. People are always arguing to deport them, but the fact is that the nations infrastructure depends on this. Think of it this way... you are able to buy clothing at the Gap, etc for almost nothing because of the existence of sweat shops in the developing world. This is much the same as how people in the US are able to enjoy a high standard of living because the infrastructure, agriculture, etc is kept up at a very low cost (illegal immigrants).

Plenty of legals could take their place...but in the process of transition there would be a large change in wage. The demanding price for that type of work would be higher and thus products would cost more. This may mean more job outsourcing. And how can America just start deporting...there would be major protests with a good possiblity for violence. The money that would go into finding illegials would be great--and then the money to enforce the border could be even more. I do agree that immigrants should try and go about joining the States a legal way but for some of them, it's a long and difficult process. So long live the 5.00/hour wages and endless Mexicana restaraunts.

Most don't think they are important--they simply want to make a decent living. The fact is that we need them more than they need us. They are the driving force for the economy and small business owners. Also think about it--would you be willing to do the work that they do? No. Also not only do they buy other American products which makes them consumers as well, they actually bring more money into the economy than they take in wages. Next time when you post something like this, please spell America with a capital A and think about what you are saying--after all, without them, you may be paying more for every day goods and then you'll be b-r-o-k-e.

Why not arm the border patrol instead if that is how you feel and then they can shoot anyone that dares to dream the American Dream. Are you an American Indian? Because if you are not your ancestors migrated here too. So shut up your bigoted face and think before you talk. Do you think they LIKE coming here against all the odds to try and make it? Compared to where they are what can you do. If anything we should try and help Mexico to make things better there so there will be no impetus to come to America. It is up to you to continue your bigoted opinion that is your right as an American, but dont talk down about others just because by an accident of birth you happen to be here.

They have been duped by the politicians. The only people who want illegals in this country are the illegals themselves. Amnesty will mean 12 million new legal mexicans which means they can run accross the border and bring their 21 relatives over. Soon, you'll have over 100 million mexicans living as legal U.S. residents. This country would never be the same. A lot of people don't understand that.

By the way, the Mexican government is dumping their poor on us. It is their policy to let the U.S. deal with their problem.

I do not think that illigal aliens are the most valuable asset to this country. I believe that if anyone wishes to live here, then they should come the legal way of their own volition. There is nothing to justify their illegal entry into this country. Economically, we could get different legal citizens to do their work just as easily. The problem is the companies that hire them. They pay less than minimum wage. The illegal immigrants, believing that coming here illegally is justified by the work they do for so little pay are mistaken. Companies hiring illegals should be prosecute to the fullest extent of the law for being enablers.

SISSY, I would survive fine without them. I dont rely on them for anything. I grow my own vegetables and fruits, do my own housework. I am not lazy either and i am american so that statement is also false. How bout we kick out the illegals and send you with them you stupid son of a *****. For the person above illegal immigrants arent the only ones who are willing to do hard work. There are some unlazy americans who will do hard work for a living as well. My brother and father are landscapers and they are italian american and they can work circles around these good for nothing illegal immigrants.

Most illegals spell better than you, though, that's why they have such an easy time finding jobs! How would you like your bank if they did as poor a job of adding as you do of spelling?

cuase? reaseon? thier? Those aren't mistakes, that's a bad habit!

why did you ask this question in UK yahoo answers.?

but any way, they are not most valuable but government should be working hard to prevent illegal immigrants entering into your country. Fault lies with the authorities who facilitate this to happen and they may even be corrupt.

So, Immigrants and the authorities both are equally responsible for blame.
