I think the most you can do is clip and/ or file down those nails. and you probably want to invest in a muzzle or something to ensure that the dog does not bite you

No you can not do this yourself. The cruelty fines for this is pretty high.
You can trim his nails with dog clippers. You get them from the pet store.
Contact your vet about declawing. I have never hard of anyone declawing a dog.
Proper training and he will stop scratching.

NO! Declawing animals is close to abuse in my thinking. A lot of the vets won't do it because of this. Part of the toe is amputated in the process. If you're not a vet don't even think of it because there is a vein in the toe that when cut can cause the dog to bleed to death.

Dogs can be declawed but I would suggest going to a vet. Doing it yourself would not be wise.

I worked at a vet clinic and i asked that same question and they told me that yes it can be done but only by certain vets and only if it is a health issue but you should never declaw any animal by yourself...i am not saying that i am against it being done just don't do it youself

Their dewclaws (the ones that are up on their ankles, not the ones on their toes) can be removed BY A VETERINARIAN.
Their toe claws shouldn't be removed. You can (and should) keep them trimmed to a reasonable length, but removing them would require amputating part of the toe, and there's no reason to do that.

No and why would you want to?! Get a groomer or your vet to clip his/her nails to the correct length and teach your dog not to jump up.
