Choosing to love God is a personal decision of the heart that first says to God with all sincerity that I have fallen short and sinned. We need to be honest with God and tell him the truth about ourselves-it is confession. Next, we ask God to forgive us of all our sins past, present and future by placing all of our faith in the forgiveness provided by Christ at the cross. Finally, we invite God to come into our hearts and take control of our life and help us to walk through the remainder of our earthly life until we are united with Him in heaven. It is a love walk with God by faith in Christ from beginning to end just like a marriage.
He stands at the door of your heart and knocks. All that is needed is to open the door and let Him in.
Any person who trusts in Christ becomes a member of the church by virtue of faith alone in Christ alone. No one can become a Christian simply by attending a church or observing church laws or being a good person. Church equals a relationship with Christ whether it be one individual or a group of people. The church is actually the family of God. A person becomes a Christian not by joining a church and performing in a certain way. Becoming a Christian happens at the moment a person believes in Christ and trusts in His forgiveness through the cross. At that moment, God does all the work of changing the believer from the inside out and brings each one into His family as sons and daughters. Every Christian is a new creation, born again. Just as we are born in the flesh into a human family through no work on our part, entrance into the church (God's family) happens without our effort but only by faith in Christ. Once a person becomes a Christian, there is great freedom in choosing what particular church he or she would like to attend.
The church is the result or consequence of faith in Christ. Many people are confused about the church's role thinking that they must go through the church to gain a relationship with Christ. In reality, the church cannot save anyone or create new life. The church can only invite others to make a personal decision to trust Christ. Once that decision is made, only God can save us by taking away all of our sins and giving us eternal life.

Why do you feel that you need a church to do this.
Religion is little more than a lie that people tell about God.
I feel that it should just be avoided. I try my best to follow the teachings of Jesus from a book called a course in miracles.
It has completely changed my life. I went from being angry and judgmental 24/7 to unconditionally loving most of the time. I don't have it quite perfect yet but the change has been amazing.
I actually can go to a place like a shopping mall or an amusement park and everyone that I see looks like a beautiful child of God to me. Everyone looks like someone precious and worthy of love to me these days. Sometimes I have trouble even believing this has actually happened to me. Its like I woke up one day and the whole world had changed. The only thing that actually changed was my way of looking at it.
For a while I thought it would pass and I would go back to seeing the old scary world I knew before. I guess its not going to happen because it’s been 7 years now and I haven’t forgotten the truth this book taught me. If your belief system won’t let you see everyone that you encounter as a beautiful child of God then your belief system is failing you miserably. If this is the case I suggest that you get a copy of the course in miracles and begin to study it. At first it is difficult because it is so different from the conflicting messages that we are used to getting from organized religion. After a while it gets very clear and you wonder how you could have missed it for so long.

You first must ask God to forgive you for your sins, ask this in sincerity and he will. Do you know the "Lords Prayer", if so you can start with this prayer. Also there are more devoted and true Christians and Pastors out there then you are giving credit for and if these Christians and Pastors are doing things secretly then you wouldn't know and couldn't make that statement in the first place, (because it's a secret). I think that sometimes people use this sort of tactic to avoid going to Church or being a Christian. You are responsible for who you are as a Christian, it is up to you to Pray, and read your Bible. Ask God to direct you in finding a Church you feel confident in, it may take some time but have faith and don't give up. Remember no one is perfect even Christians and Pastors make mistakes, we are all human first. God loves you and if you return that Love you will be blessed more than any words can convey. God Bless!!

Pray, and pray for forgiveness, confessing sins, try the Lords prayer and tell God how you feel, he will guide you.
As far as churches go, I am disappointed, while noticing Revelation 2 and 3, all the churches on the earth have problems. Maybe you should read Jesus counsel before you decide what to do.
Jesus is judging the churches and soon will manifest his presence and reveal the sons of God, then it will be allot easier to associate with true Christians. Romans 8:19-22.
Actually the church is you, the believer, not a building.

First let me congratulate you on your decision. Second, I completely understand you dilemma. It seems that you feel as if "Christians" should be perfect. Well, here is the truth.....Christians or not........no human is perfect apart from Jesus. We all make mistakes, but us as "true Christians" admit that we will and not try to put on a fake attitude of perfection. Being a Christian is basically saying, "I am striving to live a perfect life fully knowing that I am going to mess up in my process of perfection". Christians can try to be perfect all they want, but in reality we are going to mess up here and there. The Apostle Paul is known for writing the majority of the New Testament. If you please read Romans7. Pay special attention to his teachings about struggling with sin. Even Paul, the great Apostle struggled with Sin. So if he did, then so will we.
Thirdly, if you are full on to give your life to God then pray the sinners prayer. Go Here and pray this prayer.

Find a Bible Teaching Church and Fellowship. Here is just a suggestion/directory to a church near you. It is the network of Calvary Churches across the World.
http://www.calvarychapel.com/?show=Churches
Just type in your City, State or Zip code and it will bring up churches in your area.
One last thing, in accepting Jesus you have gained the privelage to feast with him and to sit with him on his throne. (Revelation 3:20-21)
Write me, tell me of your decision. I would love to fellowship with you.

You can't become saved unless you understand what you are being saved from.
Please go to this website. www.thegoodpersontest.net Be patient and go all the way throught it. If you are TRULY concerned about not going to hell, this will point you in the right direction.
Then get yourself in to a Bible based church. You can go here www.9marks.com to find one.
There are hypocrites in all walks of life in every religion. Even those who claim they live by their own standards fail to keep them. Don't let others' mistakes be the reason you end up in hell. I certainly don't want you to go there.
And if you do become a born-again Christian, then visit here www.wayofthemaster.com and learn how to share your faith.
In Christ,
John

The best way not going to hell is to committ your life to Jesus. Recognise you're a sinner and follow him. And I can tell you they are good churches ;-). The problemis that some Christians refuse to admitt they are still sinners, we are not better than others. To the eyes of God, a Christian going to Church and doing all the good things is no better than a thief. We shouldn't do things because we want to go to heaven. We should do good things because of the love of God.

You don't need a church to turn your life over to God. Just do it. God does not dwell inside a building.
He does, however, ask that you fellowship with other Christians. Perhaps find a neighborhood bible study.
One thing you need to understand is that we are ALL sinners. Just because I call myself Christian doesn't mean I don't have fleshly desires and fall into them. God just keeps working on me and when I fall, those around me, those REAL Christians around me help pick me up and light the path back to Him.

Pray first! for understanding.
ADmit that you are a sinner
Believe in your heart the Jesus died for your sins.
Believe that he rose from the grave after 3days.
Accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour.
Find a good chruch, that will feed you spiritually. Stop looking at the paster, and church for what only GOD can provide. The paster will sin, but he should be a paster that can teach.

God is calling you to come to him. He's the voice in your heart that wants a relationship that will last through eternity. Except his love and learn to reciprocate it. Churches aren't perfect because there are people there! As you grow in your faith you will discover what a battle it truly is to live up to even our own expectations. But God is faithful and forgiving and he will bring out the best in you! Take a leap of Faith...Let God lead you to a church you can grow in. My prayers are with you.
