In south park we see the devil in hell torturing souls, is essentially south park accuruate in its portrayal of what fundamentalist christians believe,

or,

is it accurate in portraying how non fundamentalists perceive what fundamentalists may or may not believe,

so, if r is south park,
and p is fundamentalists,
and q is everyone else,

did you make fun of your p's and watch your r's?

Ok, I know this one, they covered it in Sesame Street the other day.
p leads to q
q leads to r
r leads to s
The question is...
s = we will never know what fundamentalists think because their brains are wired differently?
or
s = we already know what fundamentalists think because we have their script?

I think Southpark works from the script =)

I'm leaning toward the second thought:

'is it accurate in portraying how non fundamentalists perceive what fundamentalists may or may not believe'

Okay I read it, rubbed my eyes a little, read it again. I try not to make fun of anyone(though I do sometimes, I try), and yes, I watch my r's once in a while. I think I need a break now ;)

Not being a fundamentalist, I guess I wouldnt know, but being a non-fundamentalist (if that means not following traditional Christianity), I would have to say that I dont believe that God is as they seem to portray.

I do not believe the wicked go to a fiery hell to be punished forever and ever.

Oey Vey, the only reason why an fundamentalist like myself would know about south park is due to my brother who watches it religiously only to point out idioms of Jesus.

It is funny how people assume that satan is in hell. If there are any faith follower of Christ Jesus who actually reads the bible, they can tell you that satan is on earth. He is not yet in hell. In the book of revelation, satan goes to war with earth against heaven and will not actually be in hell until his judgment before Jehovah God. God has set aside a place apart from him. Were gnashing of teeth and burning of sulfur shall hold all those who choose to be apart from Him. That is including Satan.

As for the non fundies think of us fundies, well that is up to interpretation to an individual basis. Other than God our Father, who truly knows who believes in what or who.

I am intolerant of the tolerant. So that will answer your last question/comment.

I think it is too... notice how in hell, some people were not so terribly unhappy... but everyone in Heaven was head-over-heels a goody two shoes.... it makes more sense that way.

If bad things (you know what I mean) like sex and drugs are what you want than I don't think they'll have those in heaven and so you'll go to hell but it won't be any more of a punishment than it already is living on the earth.

But of course, they won't tell you that at any church...

I am a fundamentalist, and I also watch South Park, from time to time. And, no... it's nothing like that.

Without resorting to a very long list of Bible verses, I can only describe it metaphorically...

The panic of drowning, but without the cool, soothing, water...
The fear of fire, without its comforting warmth...
The child-like terror of darkness, without light to guide you...
The emptiness of lonliness, and the despair of never seeing another person again...
The wailing sorrow of a child, whose beloved mother just tells him, "I wish you were dead"...
The pain of fire lapping at your skin, yet without the hope that it will ever stop...
The horror of maggots infesting your rotten corpse...
The thirst of a week lost in a desert, and never sight of a single drop of water...
The hunger of starvation, lingering in your empty soul...
The stress of a lifetime's worth of work, endured every second of eternity...
The numbness of your senses, only understanding evil, pain, and suffering, and no longer knowing good, comfort, and happiness...
All you can see is blackness... fire... smoke... and your own misery.

This is hell. And Satan will be suffering right along side the unsaved.

i'm no longer religious, yet I do have heavy sociological / anthropological heritage. in case you sense the might desire to "worry" your God, then it truly is considering you sense in charge for something, or you opt to sense victimized. maximum persons do no longer worry their God. They love their God. God is particularly like the ideal chief. As Machiavelli mentioned, a solid chief might desire to be the two enjoyed and feared. If he's basically enjoyed, then human beings will nonetheless do what they pick against his desires at circumstances. If he's basically feared, then they gained't love their own lives, basically doing what he needs out of worry of ramifications. in the event that they love and worry him, then they are going to do what he needs out of love and appreciate first, and out of worry 2nd. enable me attempt to apply a diverse analogy for God... God, in maximum peoples' eyes, is almost a solid confirm. a solid confirm makes use of two factors love and a million section discipline to make specific human beings lead a solid existence. a million section love is unconditional. God loves you unconditionally, considering you're his creation. (basically as a confirm loves their baby unconditionally). a million section love is for constructive reinforcement. God shows you adore to advantages your solid habit. it truly is what maximum persons call "advantages", "miracles", and so on. father and mom do the comparable with them toddlers; provide them hugs while they be triumphant. a million section discipline is used for detrimental reinforcement. God punishes human beings while they have been undesirable. father and mom do the comparable to toddlers. Now, maximum folk will stick to a Godly existence because of the fact they appreciate and love God through a million section unconditional love, and a million section constructive reinforcement. If that doesn't artwork then they worry the a million section discipline. inspite of the undeniable fact that, what's "blessing" and "punishment" from God is subjective. diverse religions, or maybe persons, may even see something as a blessing at the same time as others see it as a curse. all of us can see even in the event that they pick into something. while a mom hugs a baby, it truly is enormously tangible that it truly is a hug. yet, while a individual famous $5 on the line is that a blessing? What if it basically helps them to do something undesirable? i think of the extra effective thank you to look at God is that he supplies human beings opportunities. The $5 is an risk. How the guy chooses to apply that risk dictates even if if it truly is a "blessing" or "curse".

I hate it when intelligent humor and satire is taken by the unintelligent masses as absolute truth. It's only funny when you know what's going on.
