It's called 'feminine wiles'!!!!!

Because women often think that men think like women. They use "code words" to cover up their real meanings and expect men to "read their minds". Men, on the other hand, expect women to "just come out and tell them" what's going on or what they want. Neither is going to happen.
If a woman says "she's fine" and you know she's not then (gently) ask questions about what might really be going on.
Often women won't come out and give an opinion out of fear of reprisal. Even small reprisals can be intimidating, such as not wanting to suggest a movie because you might not like it then you would tell them how awful or "girlie" it was.
I can't write a book on this forum but there are plenty of good books out there about the way that men and women think and how they can understand each other. I suggest you do a little research and buy one or two of them.

It's suggested by another here that this is 'feminine wiles' - but is often best summed up in the 'quoted' saying.....

"just because I said what I meant,

it doesn't mean that I meant what I said."

Apparently, to some women, they cannot find anything wrong or in any way contrary or even argumentative with that...!

Just continue with your breathing exercises.

Good luck.

Women.. girls always do that. It's nothing personal, we just have a tendency to do that. It's like, masking our true feelings because we're embarassed to say the truth.

For instance, when you ask a girl if she's okay, she say she's fine. Really, she's not fine. She wants to see if you'll go comfort her.

Yeah.. that's pretty much it. Don't take anything we say sometimes literally. We may mean something else and it's up to the guy to figure it out.

It's the Venus/ Mars situation.

But in the end WHAT difference does it make?

We will all be baffled anyway, just happier!
