Wow, what kind of people come up with these ideas? People should believe whatever they want, nothing like this should ever be mandatory. What curriculum would be provided about same sex marriage? Two people of the same sex get married. End of program.

The same reason I wouldn't support a nationwide program to educate people about Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, or Mormonism. We shouldn;t force people to learn something they don't want to learn, especially if it is contrary to their beliefs. If people want to take a college class to learn about homosexuals, that is fine, it is their choice, but it shouldn't be forced on people, nothing should.

Why do we need to be "educated" on it? It's fairly self-explanatory. Gays and lesbians want rights.

We can't do that, that would actually emphasize the whole concept of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".
