I presume it is a second hand corsa you are buying.. Honestly unless you really really want a corsa I wouldn't bother...Go and drive a Yaris and compare it to the Corsa you will find it more refined and it will not give any problems at all ...ever.... I used to drive Toyotas all the time and changed to a BMW coz I thought it would be better..... It has cost me over a grand in repair bills this year alone and is back in the garage with overheating problems at the minute. People will tell you not to buy Toyota coz the parts are expensive....They are not any dearer and you won't need any parts.

I know a couple of people who used to own a Corsa and the gear stick broke not long after they had purchases it new.

Apparentely this was common with these cars. However, this was a couple of years ago so they may of fixed that problem now.

They don't handle too well, sometimes the plastic trim inside rattles a bit and they are hardly the fastest car around.

Mechanically I think the main fault I am aware of is the sticking valves. Sometimes you can fix it with an engine flush and other stuff you can buy but if your unlucky like me and they are damaged you will need the whole lot replacing at £350.

Other than that they are quite reliable, parts are easy to come by and the insurance is cheap as hell.

depends how new your going, but avoid 3 cylinder model, if its X reg onwards (newer shape) make sure the steering feels the same turning both ways, some models have dashboard faults but this is obvious fault as it stops them running.
the wife has an sxi 1200 model, goes ok, handles well, all electrics and alloy wheels on it.
dont believe all the crap that gets spouted about them!

The car is reliable and tyrouble free if it has been maintainined well, watch for good service history and paint work problems, avoid the 1.5diesel. too noisy and vibrates badly
