Very sticky question.
Depending on your situation really. If you are trying to pick her up at a bar...you lose. You need the sleaze factor working for you there. If you meet a girl under other circumstances then perhaps. You do, however, walk a fine line.
By this I mean that as a decent person, you can probably come off as a little soft at times. You can't take the silent, non-assertive approach and expect women to throw themselves at you. Be assertive enough to make her interested in you and let your personality show.
Basically, women don't like wallflowers, no matter what you see in movies and crap. I would also drop the "fair maiden" bit.

It's not winning the hand of any maiden, but the fair ones you seek, right. Perhaps you're looking for love in all the wrong places? Or the fair maidens you seek are in search of less chivalrous knights? Regardless, it's just a matter of time. When the time is right for that fair maiden to fall into your arms, it will happen - probably when you least suspect it.

Depends on what you want. If you want a trophy babe and you don't have big bucks, forget it. Women want a man with money who can support them and her kids. So concentrate your efforts on getting a good job and working hard. If you are successful, you will meet plenty of desirable women. The less success you achieve, the less desirable women you will meet who are interested. I'm sure you have no trouble meeting women. The problem is meeting the pretty ones. It's a problem common to all men. Women want decent men. How do you prove to a woman that you are decent. By telling her. That won't do. If she's smart, she'll see what you've done with your life. If you educate yourself and work hard and save money and treat people well, and treat her well that does the convincing. Not the words. You treat her well by being kind and generous. You don't have to buy her diamonds, but dinner at a nice restaurant is necessary. You have to listen to her when she talks, not just shoot your mouth off, but you do need a repertoire of interesting stories to tell.

It is not that nice guys finish last so much as that they don't even run when the gun goes off. Women like confident men, which is why they often go for jerks, who have a lot of confidence. A real winning combination is a nice guy who has a healthy level of self-confidence. He beats a jerk any day. What you have to remember is that women want you to pursue them, and then they give in to you. If you don't do the pursuing, you are bound to be frustrated and lonely.

I do not believe that Nice Guy's finish last. After all, I am very in love with a Guy in Georgia and he is Thee Nicest Guy I have ever met. Take Care they are out there!

It does seem that way doesn't it......I get so sick of hearing my female friends complain that there are no good guys left out there. But, when a nice, descent guy comes along, for some reason, they seem to treat him like crap.......just give it time, there are good girls out there looking for a good man that they will appreciate. Just hang in there, love comes to you when you least expect it......Good luck nice guy

I think that nice guys are the best. Forget the girls who've past you up. It kinda' a common misconception that Bad Boys are the best...But I love gentle and sweet guys who I can be myself around...Just keep looking the perfect girl is out there waiting for you...

nice guys finish last but look at it another way-the girls with the body and looks and all get taken, but we get the ones with the personality.
