My dad got either stung or bitten by we think a spider....but...he said it didnt have 6 legs. He squeezed out a fang looking thing out of his arm, it was a tanish white color with a brown or black end. What is it?

It wasnt a tick thats for sure. It was kinda big and the fang/stinger wutev, is about the size of the metal point of a regular pen.

Well for a start spiders have 8 legs. If a fang became detached then it probably was a spider - most other invertebrates capable of biting have their fangs more firmly attached.

If the "fang" looked like a sharp tooth with a small pouch attached then this is the sting of a bee - when a bee stings it leaves the stinger behind and it continues to pump venom into you until you remove it.

Well no matter what it culd have been both some spiders can lose fangs when they bite humans, you say that spiders around might not be big enough but that has nothing to do with the size of their teeth. Spiders also have eight legs and not 6 so you could have been looking at one that lost some legs. On the other hand a bees stinger always detaches after it stings somebody and can bee lodged in the skin, so it could very easily be a bee also. Your best bet is to actually look at the bite itself, spider bites actually have a tendency to branch out under the skin like a spider web, while bee stings just swell up.

spiders have eight legs. other than that, if it left a fang, probably not a spider. try looking for something with a stinger. they look like fangs sometimes. other wise it could be anything.

If it was a spider get him to a DR. Spider bites are all slightly poison with some spiders such as the brown recluse, being deadly to humans. Get it looked at by a doctor.

It could be a tick. A tick is a type of spider and would leave something inbedded if it is pulled off before completly imbedding its head. I would seea doctor straight away as ticks carry lime disease which can be fatal.
