do something which is would have quite a low probability of working out but would gurantee you a good life but would came at a very very price if it doesnt work out ie mess up your life completely forever
OR
would you rather take the path of a pretty crappy life but that is guranteed to be just that bit better than the one you would have had had you taken the risk...
i hope this makes sense...

I would hope that there is a 3rd option...ie something to provide you an average life, with an average chance of happening.

The answer really depends upon several things...
1. age, if you are young you will have more opportunities to recover from early mistakes. Conversely you will have more opportunities and can wait for a less risky way to improve your life.

2. Is it legal? Never try to go for the gold if it is illegal...I would call being a convicted felon and spending a large chunk of your life behind bars a very high price...that would be hard to recover from.

3. Does your decision affect others or just yourself? If it affects others, I would think very hard before being to risky. If it is just yourself, then you can be as risky as you want knowing you will be the one paying the price should you fail.

Personally, given the little amount of info you have given....
If I was young, it was legal, and it just affected me....I would probably put up with the "crappy" life for a little while and look for a better opportunity.

Are we talking about money or something else??. Well let me tell u, this all depends on how much courage u got in u. If u decide to go with the first one, and for one reason or another it doesn't work out, I don't think that it will mess ur your life; I think that it will simply redirected in a diff. way. Good or Bad u'll find out in the future its mostly what u make of it. Now if u decide with the second, you will simply go one with ur boring *** life nothing new just going on a never ending pattern.
I leave this up to u Do u think u have enough COURAGE.

Should he have taken the road less travelled? Well, there is risk involved in life. Period. You can try to stay a pretty safe course, follow your little safe route through your little safe life, live a kind of hum-drum, safe, bland life, or you can live a little, plunge into the unknown, try something new, do the unexpected... that is where you will experience the most growth in any case. No matter how it turns out, taking risks allows you to become a bigger person, and will teach you a few things about yourself.

The first choice is harder and less predictable, but that's half the fun of it when you make it. And it can't mess up your life forever- you can't go back, but you can go forward and make better decisions. The second choice I think is kind of sad. There's no risk, no fun, it's all boring and monotonous. I personally would go for the first choice, but it depends on what type of person you are.

I never had a situation where there are only two choices. You perceive the choices you have as only two variations, but in actuality, there are infinite number of choices available.

I will not take the choice if there are a probability of outcome that is simply not acceptable. I always keep my "out." Outside of this, I take risks depending on the likely-hood of success and the cost associated with it.

trust your instints sweetie. i suppose your talking about a potential boyfriend and a sucky but secure husband type thing-- just a guess. i took the first path, left the husband for a man i just met, and i am so happy now, something i never never would have felt with the husband. Even if it wouldn't have worked out, you will have opened the door for the change to be made eventually. Everyone deserves to be happy. EVERYONE, and if you picked the wrong path the first time, no one ever said you can't try again.

I would rather take the chance. I have been doing that my whole life, taking chances. Sometimes it doesnt turn out so great, but sometimes it does. For example, I took the chance to tell my best friend I was in love with him, and now (3 years later) we are married. I took a chance to move to Virginia in '03, and it didnt work out, but I would rather know for sure whether it will work out or not, than spend my whole life wondering about it.

Life is a gamble, but the first option sounds like too much of a gamble if it doesnt work. If I had more info I could probably help you more but this is really vague. I'm a Mom of 4 girls so if your having a problem that you cant seem to go to your Mom about than e-mail me and I'll try to help. skipper44567@yahoo.com

take the guarantee. i am not a risk taker. and since i am a mother i have to do what is gauranteed for my children. there would be no way i could take that kind of risk, cuz if it failed, how in the world would i be able look at my daughter and tell i ruined not only my life but hers because i decided to take a huge risk? wouldnt happen!!

take the risk, otherwise youll spend the rest of your life wondering what could have been. Sure it may not work out but at least you tried, and you can always try again. If ive learned one inmportant thing in my life its to never settle for anything, you can always have more, have what you deserve
