I do not believe in organized religion. I'm not prepared to say there is no God, merely that she wouldn't belong to any of the religions I've ever seen. It is the organization, which naturally involves people, that screws up religion.

You mean that you don't believe in something with intelligence that lives outside of this world.

As for believing in "religion," there is evidence of religion everywhere, like churches, temples, icons, and so forth.

Some of your answerers here talk about people "screwing up" organized religion, as if they are not people themselves who would and do likewise "screw up" anything that they themselves touch.

One "point" of religion is that we're not perfect and tend to screw stuff up, and yet we have this ideal of how things COULD be if we were better. Where do we get this concept of the ideal? If we see no evidence of perfection in any human being around us, why do we place such a high premium on perfection? Could it be, perhaps, because some intelligence higher and better than us placed the ideal of perfection within us, so that we would seek it somewhere OTHER than in people? ... It very well could mean this.

I find it's not so much a matter of not believing IN religion as simply not BELIEVING religion. Christianity is particularly deserving of this dismissiveness because it has not one iota of evidence to back up its central tenet -- that faith in Jesus procures eternal life. As soon as they can present ONE person who was a believer in mortal life and is now enjoying eternal life in Heaven, I'll be prepared to reconsider; but until then, it's just an unsubstantiated pipe dream, no different from the thousands of other cults throughout history.....

sounds like you profess not to follow a religion, but if I were to follow you around all day, I would probably find that you act as if you believe atheism or naturalism.

you may say you have no need for a "religion" but your life proves what you believe.

I do not. I belive in GOD but not in religion. I strongly believe God created Humans and Humans created religion. None of the messiahs ever stated that they are starting a religion, like jesus, moses, buddha, krishna, mohammed. They just taught the love of god and how to lead a good life. Its their followers who formed religions and later formed laws on those and all the rest.

believe me there is no one doesn't believe in religion if u think of it deeeeeeeeeplyyyyy.. but people who say like these things r trying to get otherones attention.. also all the problems that happens between different cultures its basic reason is religion.. so if u brought somebody that he says he doesn't believe in religion to meet for example (muslim) he will hate.. but shouldn't that one be very peacefull to all people cuz he had no religion...

I don't feel a connection to any organized religion, but I consider myself a spiritual person. I enjoy yoga and meditation, and I feel a connection to people with positive energies during my practice.

I don't believe in religion, because I don't believe in gods or in thought authorities.
