You will need to get a PDF writer such as Adobe Acrobat (not the free Adobe Acrobat reader that can be freely downloaded). Other commercial products may also be available, but I highly recommend purchasing Adobe Acrobat (about $250).
Install the software (Adobe Acrobat).
When in Microsoft PowerPoint, open your presentation and then simply go to "File" in the menu bar, select "Print" and change the printer to "Adobe PDF" or whatever your PDF writer is called.
This will then guide you through the PDF creation process and a PDF file will be created.
Note: Sounds & animations are not things that can be easily configured for PDF files; you will only get simply pages, but all of the photos and colors should be preserved well. Good luck!
PS--Once Adobe Acrobat is installed, you can create PDF files from most commercial programs using this same method. It seems a bit odd that you create a PDF file by "printing", but once you do it a few times you will get the hang of things.

You have to have the full version of adobe. To check click file, print and under your printer selection you will see PDF writer. If you have it then hit print. This will actual then go to a save as selection. Save to a location you can find later and click ok. YOu will then have that doc in a pdf format.
If you do not see PDF writer as a print option you do not have the access. I can do it for you. Email to kappadon3@yahoo.com. I'll turn it around in seconds for you.

If you have Open Office installed, open the power point presentation in it, then use its built-in PDF creator.
Or, install a PDF printer driver.

you have to have the adobe program on your file. Depending on your system or computer depends on how you save it. I have a menu bar for it or I can go to my printer options and print to a PDF.
